Bengaluru, NFAPost: Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), an acknowledged national resource Institute for Entrepreneurship Education, Research, Training & Institution Building has been conducting special ‘Entrepreneurship & Capacity Building Training Programme’ for existing and budding SC-ST entrepreneurs in Bengaluru.

Considering the situation of Covid this year, the Institute has started conducting online programmes from October 05, this year. The main objective of these programmes is to facilitate and train SC, ST youths in setting up their own enterprises. Apart from Bengaluru, the programmes are being conducted in Ahmedabad, Vapi, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Bhopal, Thrissur (Kerala) and Guwahati.
The programmes include subjects like Developing Entrepreneurial Soft Skills, Marketing and Branding, Financial Management, Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship Sensitization and Development Programme which are all a part of setting up and running an enterprise successfully.
Wealth creation
Sharing details about the programme, EDII Director Department of Projects (Government) S B Sareen said employment generation, income and wealth creation, have not just been the goals for the country but at individual levels also, people have always aspired for these.
“Just as the country has been targeting optimum resource utilisation for achieving these goals, individuals too need to hone their skills in order to step up on to higher levels of achievement. It is especially the marginalised and the members of the SC/ST community who have limited access to skills and education and require efforts to come face-to-face with their latent potential. Training, education and counselling can create an ideal environment for achievement-oriented and enterprising people,” said S B Sareen.
Towards creating such achieving societies, the National SC/ST Hub, MSME, Govt. of India has mounted capacity building programmes to hone soft skills as also entrepreneurial capabilities so that focussed new and existing entrepreneurs, especially from the SC/ST community, set up their enterprises and make them sustainable. The training has been well received and appreciated by the beneficiaries.
