Kishore Alva Elected As Assocham Karnataka Chapter Chairman

Bengaluru, NFAPost: Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry (ASSOCHAM) has selected Kishore Alva, Executive Director and President of Adani Group in Karnataka as Chairman of its Karnataka State Council for the year 2026-27.

Kishore Alva brings over three decades of experience across energy, infrastructure, and international trade relations. He has held strategic roles in globally renowned companies like Cojentrics, CLP-I, China Light & Power International, Udipi Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL earlier known as Lanco Infra Tech) and Unocal 76, contributing significantly to business development, policy advocacy, and institutional strengthening.

A seasoned industry leader, Kishore Alva brings experience of working with associations like the US.-India Business Council (USIBC) and served as President of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2018–19. In these positions, he actively promoted industry-led initiatives, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement.

Currently, he is serving as executive director and president of Adani Group in Karnataka. In addition, he has contributed to higher education governance by heading University Councils in the state, reflecting his commitment to institutional development and knowledge ecosystems.

Talking to TheNFAPost, Kishore Alva said as Assocham Chairman his efforts will be focussed around initiatives to drive industrial growth, improve the ease of doing business, and strengthen collaboration between industry and government in Karnataka.

“Key focus areas are expected to include attracting investments, supporting MSMEs, fostering innovation, and advancing policy advocacy aligned with the state’s economic priorities. There is a need to build a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem in Karnataka through technology adoption, sustainability, and global partnerships,” said Assocham Karnataka Chapter Chairman Kishore Alva.

Kishore Alva reiterated his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to position Karnataka as a leading investment and innovation hub.

Assocham, established in 1920, is one of India’s premier apex industry bodies. With a strong membership base of over 450,000 companies, including large corporates and MSMEs, Assocham plays a vital role in shaping policy discourse and advocating actionable reforms to strengthen the Indian economy. The Chamber represents diverse sectors of industry and consistently works towards aligning industry priorities with national growth objectives.

Assocham Karnataka Secretariate state’s in the association website that its focus is on giving more impetus to the Auto & Auto Component sector, MSME Sector, Energy & Environment Sector, Agri & Food Processing Sector, ESDM Sector, Healthcare and Medical Devices Sector, Aerospace & Aviation Sector, IT & ITES & Startup by engaging with the Government and interfacing with Industry Leaders from these sectors in the State of Karnataka.

“Going forward, we will enhance our focus on knowledge, policy advocacy, sector development and capacity building. ASSOCHAM aims to drive more initiatives to support our members, the industry at large, and the Government to drive the country\’s socio-economic growth,” states Assocham Karnataka Secretariate.

Assocham Karnataka Council will facilitate and guide the conduct of programmes, projects, publications, and other activities focusing on socio-economic development indicators with an objective to serve the organisation’s members and non-member partners in the state of Karnataka.
