KUWAIT CITY, NFA Post: Kuwait has announced the demise of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, on Saturday.
In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Amiri Diwan said, “With deep grief and regret, we mourn to the Kuwaiti people, the Arab and Muslim nations and friendly people demise of the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah who passed away today Saturday.”
“We pray to His Almighty Allah so he may bestow upon the deceased his unlimited mercy and embrace his soul in his vast paradise.”
UAE declares 3-day mourning period over death of Kuwait’s Emir
The President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Saturday declared a three-day national mourning period over the death of Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Al Ahmad Al Sabah. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed ordered that flags be flown at half-mast starting today at all government departments within the country, as well as the UAE’s embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, according to an advisory on state news agency Wam.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, the President extended the leadership’s heartfelt sympathies to Kuwait and its royal family.Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also expressed his condolences.Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah served his country for six decades and fulfilled his role with all sincerity,” the Dubai Ruler wrote.
