• Three-day Flagship Global Investors Meet (GIM) starting November 2nd aims to set the development agenda of Karnataka for the coming decade

Bengaluru, NFAPost: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Invest Karnataka 2022, the Global Investors Meet (GIM) of the state on November 2nd virtually and will address the participants of the flagship event, which is aimed at attracting the prospective investors and setting development agenda for the next decade.
Addressing the media at the curtain raiser press conference today, Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani said Karnataka is the preferred destination for investments in the manufacturing & sustainability sectors.
“We have received a very good response and interest from investors across the world. The state is expecting over Rs 5 lakh crore in investments and the generation of 5 lakh jobs through the GIM 2022. Our aim is not only to get investments but to bring the industry giants under one platform,” said Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani.
Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani said this edition of the GIM would be under the theme ‘Build for the World’ reflecting on the role Karnataka aims to play in the global supply chain.
“The key topics to be addressed during the event will revolve around the sub-themes of innovation, sustainability, equity, and resilience. The valedictory ceremony would include an investment announcement session for all the investments realized and MoUs signed. The event would see 5000+ senior delegates across sectors from around the world. We are looking at forging partnerships with various business houses,” said Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani.
The minister said the government wants to focus beyond Bengaluru to promote industries in tier 3 and tier 3 cities.
“The idea is to create an industrial ecosystem beyond Bangalore and local job creation. Through our Beyond Bengaluru initiative, we are providing lucrative incentives to investors in order to promote Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities,” said Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R Nirani.

The three-day event (2nd Nov – 4th Nov) at Bangalore Palace, Bengaluru, would witness several speaker sessions, offer B2B and B2G networking opportunities and curated cultural experiences.
The inaugural ceremony would be followed by 80+ immersive speaker sessions and 50+insightful sessions spread across the 2.5 days. These sessions would be a mix of innovative formats such as panel discussions, fireside chats, and ted-style talks.
In addition to the speaker sessions, a number of networking events, business exhibitions with 300+ exhibitors, and country sessions would run parallelly. The country sessions would each be hosted by the partner countries — France, Germany, Netherlands, South Korea, Japan, and Australia — which would be bringing in high-level ministerial and industrial delegations from their respective countries for the same.
Given that the event would have delegates from across the world, Karnataka is looking at it as a great opportunity to showcase the rich culture and heritage of the state and India. There would be a musical performance by the two-time Grammy award winner – Ricky Kej on the evening of Day 1 (2nd Nov), an immersive Drum Circle show by Vasundhara Das in the afternoon of Day 2 (3rd Nov) followed by a Yakshagaana performance and Jugalbandi of Carnatic and Hindustani music by celebrated artists.
To showcase the evolution of art forms in Karnataka, there would be a dedicated exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Arts, Bengaluru, bringing in paintings and artifacts from museums and galleries across all parts of the state. Traditional handicrafts, handlooms, and textiles of Karnataka would be showcased at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad. Furthermore, there would be curated tourism trails in Karnataka, food festivals and wine-tasting sessions, golf tournaments and heritage walks.
This edition of the investors’ meet had earlier initiated a Global Startup Challenge – VentuRISE, which invited growth-staged startups working in manufacturing and sustainability sectors from across the world to participate and present innovative ventures. The VentuRISE has received 1200+ applications and the announcement of the winners of the Challenge would be done at the Global Investors Meet. The cash prize pool for the winning startups is USD 100,000.
The event would culminate in a closing ceremony on Day 3 (4th Nov.) tentatively planned from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Global Investors Meet – Invest Karnataka 2022
