India Cycle Show 2025 As Part of Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 Garners Attention Of All And Sundry

New Delhi, NFAPost: The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 At Pragati Maidan, the India Cycle Show 2025, organized by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC), showcased bicycles, e-scooters, and micro-mobility solutions.

India’s number one brand Hero Motor Cycle (HMC) and introduced innovations such as Hero Sonic and Hero Sprint Enzo for off road biking. Speaking to TheNFAPost, HMC official said the company received overwhelming response from various partners from abroad.

“Our queries South American countries, Tajakisthan , Indonesia, Nepal and Bhutan we have got solid queries. Besides our design office in Manchester, HMC has its sales office in London to further enhance our global ambition. Insync, our brand for Europe, is also doing very well. We are also going for technology partners in product upgradation so that new launches will have more advanced technologies for Indian consumers,” said the company source.

To race ahead in Indian market, the second largest brand in India Avon Cycles from Ludhiyana also launched the TYKE brand for kids and the E-Cargo Bike designed for delivery needs. The company is planning to expand its dealer network across India to strengthen its customer engagement.

Kross Bikes launched the Esentia Series, featuring models for children, women, and adults, along with bicycle accessories. Helen Bikes unveiled a prototype with a modern design aimed at redefining cycling.

Commenting on the growth of Indian cycle industry, Arvian Research stated that the Industry is a classical example of business transformation from Licence Raj to Liberalisation era and the impact of technology disruption.

“Around 100 companies got a licence to start a cycle manufacturing unit. Around 30 of them were from Ludhiyana from Punjab and naturally a supplier ecosystem got developed there. From simple cycles to kids and adults, Indian cycle brands manufacture high end cycles with battery and electronic systems. We are also coming up with more technology stacks for Make-in-India,” said Arvian Research.

Sharing his thought on Indian cycle industry, Avon Cycle Limited CEO Onkar Aingh Pahwa said cycling during the independece period was necessity and now it is transformed into recreation and health necessity.

“We have to factor in these change in curstomer preference. Indian cycle industry players are also changing themselves by expanding their portfolio via branching out from the cycle only focus to electric vehicles and healthcare-related devices using cycling technology. Avon Cycle Limited recent product launches exmplifies this strategy,” said Avon Cycle Limited CEO Onkar Aingh Pahwa.

At the same time, the cycle industry is looking at more technologies in light weight / composite metals;electronics subsystem; mobile app platform; battery technology; charging technology etc backed by more business expansion strategies both in domestic and global markets.

All India Cycle Manufacturers’ Association (AICMA) Secretary General K B Thakur said AICMA will take a lead in bringing innovation in the bicycle industry so that customer aspirations can be fulfilled.

“It is a necessity to focus on merging lightweight designs with attractive realiability and aestics. It should be supported by smarter technologies to provide rich features that cyclists expect from manufactureres,” said AICMA Secretary General K B Thakur.

The Indian bicycle market is projected to reach $4.5 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 6.3% during 2024-2032 period. The e-cycle segment, though in nascent stage, is also growing rapidly, projected to capture 15–20% of the market within the next decade. In 2023-24, total bicycl sales in India reached 10.67 million units, marking a 2.4% increase from the previous year’s 10.42 million units.

The cycle industry in the country is facing the heat of the Chinese competition as there is 15% cost disadvantage compared to China, primarily driven by higher raw material cost and logistics cost.


The cycle show also brought the youngest visitor to Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
