New Delhi, NFAPost: MEA of India Official Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced India and Pakistan agreed upon a ceasefire and so the Operation Sindoor will be stopped from 3.35 pm onwards.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said Pakistan’s Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) called several times since yesterday to Indian DGMO and finally decided to end all firing at 3:35 pm.
“It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time. Today, instructions have already been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding. The Directors General of Military Operations will talk again on the 12th of May at 1200 hours,” said Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
According to unconfirmed sources, India and Pakistan agreed to immediate ceasefire after US mediation under the leadership of US President Donald Trump.
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
The post was also shared by US Vice President JD Vance, who earlier said America wouldn’t get involved in a war that’s “fundamentally none of our business”.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar says India and Pakistan have agreed to halt hostilities starting from. The top Pakistan diplomat also extended his gratitude to these countries, especially acknowledging efforts by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Since the launch of India’s Operation Sindoor to dismantle terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a shaken Pakistan has responded with cowardly and unprovoked aggression along India’s border regions.
