ITC Ltd. is all set to acquire Bengaluru’s iconic eatery ‘MTR Foods’ with reports of mutual discussions making waves on the internet. This acquisition is reportedly ITC’s strategic move to consolidate its presence in the South Indian food market.
ITC is also targeting to buy the Eastern Foods deal to spice up its portfolio in South Indian states. These deals seem totally relevant as both MTR and Eastern Foods have a strong reputation in the south. Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh are the key states where Eastern Foods has a strong foothold in India. It could be a significant milestone for ITC to spread its wings across India if the MTR deal goes through.
