Chennai / Puducherry, NFAPost: Puducherry is set to host the GOPIO International Business Summit from August 22 to 24, 2025, at the Exhibition and Trade Centre, Old Port, in a major initiative to attract foreign investment and boost employment opportunities.
The event is being organised in collaboration with the Global Organisation for People of Indian Origin (GOPIO), an international network of people of Indian origin (PIO) and the Puducherry Tourism Department.
The summit aims to position Puducherry as a dynamic destination for innovation, trade, and sustainable development. Over 600 business leaders, including 200 international entrepreneurs from 30 countries and 300 Indian delegates, are expected to attend.
The three-day event will feature discussions across 12 key sectors—ranging from information technology, artificial intelligence, mobility, and export-import to textiles, tourism, medical care, agriculture, and start-ups.
The GOPIO International Business Summit is a unique platform where industry leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals gather to discuss latest trends, challenges and opportunities shaping the global business landscape.
Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who will inaugurate the summi,t said this summit serves as a platform to benefit business enterprises with the ultimate goal of creating new business opportunities and stimulating economic growth for PIOs globally.
Co-chair and local industrialist Mananathan projected that the summit could generate Rs 1,000 crore in export deals, with a quarter of the impact benefitting Puducherry’s local economy.
The Summit will emphasis current business needs such as Environment, Social and Governance (ESG), Sustainable Tourism, Trading and Technology. The Summit will also feature eminent speakers, thought leaders and experts in business segments such as franchising, logistics, agriculture and others.
Speaking to TheNFAPost, First World Community Founder Chairman C K Ahsok Kumar said GOPIO International Business Summit is an important platform in nurturing minds and synergising for greater achievements.
“This is a transformative event that brings together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and visionaries from around the world. I believe India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, and the GOPIO International Business Summit will play a crucial role in this journey,” said First World Community Founder Chairman C K Ahsok Kumar.
The event will have participation of more than 400 business delegates, both national and international, who will discuss strategic approaches in international business and entrepreneurship,
GOPIO was founded at the First Global Convention of People of Indian Origin in New York in 1989. The initial thrust of GOPIO was to globally network the widely spread PIOs in large number of countries. GOPIO has now set its priorities in pooling our resources, both financially and professionally, for the benefit of PIOs and for the countries they come from.
