Over 400 founders, investors, and policymakers converge as NSRCEL unveils new entrepreneurial playbooks and celebrates $7.37+ billion combined valuation of incubated ventures
NFAPost, Bengaluru: Marking a landmark moment in India’s entrepreneurial journey, NSRCEL—the incubation and innovation hub at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore—celebrated its 25th anniversary at the flagship SummitUp 2025 conclave on November 21. The event brought together over 400 leaders from across India’s startup ecosystem, including founders, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers, reflecting the centre’s growing influence in shaping the future of innovation.
Hosted on the IIM Bangalore campus, SummitUp 2025 showcased the sheer breadth of ideas and talent nurtured by NSRCEL over the years. With more than 3,178 ventures incubated, a staggering $7.37+ billion combined valuation, and 35,792+ jobs created, NSRCEL has evolved into one of India’s most dynamic entrepreneurial engines. Over the last year alone, the centre has expanded its reach to 82 towns, strengthening the innovation pipeline across urban and non-metropolitan India.
A Conclave Rooted in Insight and Action
This year’s conclave revolved around five high-impact tracks—DeepTech, FinTech, Climate, Social Impact, and Women’s Entrepreneurship—each spotlighting emerging opportunities and challenges in a fast-changing global order. Thought-provoking discussions, including “The VC Blind Spot: Founder Learnings and Strategies” and “AI for Bharat: Tech-Driven Solutions for India’s Future,” set the tone for a day committed to learning, collaboration, and future-building.
Speaking at the silver jubilee celebration, Anand Sri Ganesh, CEO of NSRCEL, reflected on the organisation’s remarkable journey.
“As NSRCEL marks 25 years of empowering dreams and shaping futures, SummitUp 2025 is a powerful testament to Indian entrepreneurship. We have seen ideas evolve into purpose-driven ventures, and each success reinforces the importance of institutions like ours in enabling bold ambition and sustainable innovation.”
Delivering a keynote rich with practical wisdom, Prashanth Prakash, Founding Partner at Accel, emphasised the growing importance of ecosystem-led innovation.
“For founders building in complex, innovation-driven spaces, the truth is you can’t build everything alone. When parts of the problem lie beyond your capabilities, you tap into the broader ecosystem and make those strengths an inherent part of your company.”
“This collaborative mindset—learning from global playbooks, forming the right partnerships—is what will define the next wave of innovation in India.”
The event also hosted influential voices from across sectors, including Nishchay Ag (Founder & CEO, Jar), Ankit Mehta (Founder & CEO, IdeaForge), Srinath Ravichandran (Co-founder & CEO, Agnikul), and Anil G (Co-founder & COO, Bounce Infinity). Their experiences injected real-world nuance into conversations about resilience, product-building, financing, and navigating regulatory complexity.
Key Launches: Equipping Founders for the Next Decade
Two major announcements underscored NSRCEL’s future-forward approach:
1. Launch of Start Right Handbook
A founder-friendly guide consolidating decades of NSRCEL’s on-ground experience and academic insights, Start Rightoffers emerging entrepreneurs a structured framework to cut through early-stage noise and focus on what truly matters. The handbook aims to become a go-to companion for first-time founders taking their initial steps.
2. Release of ‘Impact Insights – Assessment’ Report
Based on a three-year evaluation of 120 tech-enabled social enterprises, the report revealed:
- 85% strengthened operations and legal compliance
- 95% transitioned to their next growth stage
- 60% accessed alternate funding
- 85% developed robust business and revenue models
These findings underscore the measurable impact of NSRCEL’s sector-specific programs in shaping resilient, scalable social enterprises.
A Vision Anchored in the Future
Looking ahead, NSRCEL plans to expand its innovation initiatives, launch a knowledge-driven entrepreneurial hub, and deploy AI-enabled learning pathways tailored to founders’ evolving needs. With a renewed focus on inclusivity, global collaboration, and future-ready technologies, the incubator aims to deepen its role as a cornerstone of India’s innovation ecosystem.
For an institution that pioneered startup incubation long before “startup” became mainstream in India, SummitUp 2025 not only celebrated a glorious past but also signaled an ambitious, collaborative future.
