Karnataka Join Hands With Centre To Bring Global Best Practices in eGovernance

Bengaluru, NFAPost: A high-level meeting was held between Karnataka IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge and senior officials from the National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) to explore innovative digital solutions for the state.

The discussions focused on leveraging NISG’s expertise in eGovernance to enhance citizen-centric service delivery and accelerate Karnataka’s digital transformation. NISG CEO Rajiv Bansal (IAS), NISG Senior Vice President & CFO Veerraju Naidu and NISG Project Officer Stephen Anurag Prathipati were present at the meeting.

Karnataka, known as India’s technology and innovation hub, has been a pioneer in digital governance. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaborations between Union and State governments, as well as public and private stakeholders, to adopt global best practices and emerging technologies.

Key discussions centered on engaging NISG to facilitate advanced e-Governance solutions tailored to Karnataka’s needs. They explored opportunities to enhance digital public infrastructure, improve service delivery efficiency, and integrate AI-driven governance models that will directly benefit citizens.

Karnataka IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge said the state has always been at the forefront of digital innovation, and the collaboration with NISG will further strengthen our efforts to enhance e-Governance and citizen-centric services.

“By leveraging global best practices and fostering strategic partnerships, we aim to accelerate the state’s digital transformation and set new benchmarks in governance. Our focus is on building a future-ready digital infrastructure that not only benefits Karnataka but also serves as a model for other states,” said Karnataka IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge.

National Institute for Smart Government (NISG) Chief Executive Officer Rajiv Bansal said NISG is committed to supporting Karnataka in its digital transformation journey by bringing in expertise, best practices, and cutting-edge eGovernance solutions.

“Our collaboration will focus on enhancing citizen-centric service delivery, strengthening digital public infrastructure, and exploring emerging technologies, including in the aviation sector.
