JUSE, CII Institute of Quality Bengaluru Hold Meeting For Issuing Joint Certification In India

Tokyo, NFAPost: The Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE), established in 1946 to promote systematic studies needed for the advancement of science and technology, whereupon to contribute to the development of culture and industry, on Monday organised a meeting with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Quality, Bengaluru to go ahead with its plan to issue joint certification in India.

Speaking to TheNFAPost, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Quality Chief Operating Officer (COO) Neil Christopher Castelino said the meeting with JUSE is a historical moment in the growth journey of CII Institute of Quality, Bengaluru.

“India is going through a phenomenal growth journey as the 4th largest economy in the world. At the same time, the Government of India wants to harness 25% of GDP from manufacturing. This requires partnership with JUSE, which will help us in enhancing the quality control system with various certifications,” said Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Institute of Quality Chief Operating Officer (COO) Neil Christopher Castelino.

According to Japanese sources from JUSE, the meeting will pave the way for a long-term partnership with JUSE and CII Institute of Quality, Bengaluru, on issuing joint certificates in the Five S – Housekeeping improvement and Total Quality Management (TQM).

“The field of science and technology that JUSE has been involved in since its establishment belongs to the Soft Technology, where the mathematical and statistical methods can be applied to corporate management. Especially, the quality control has been the primary subject of JUSE and great efforts have been bent to the development and dissemination of the technology,” said JUSE sources to TheNFAPost.

The JUSE was established in May 1946, and was consolidated in 1962 under the jurisdiction of the Science and Technology Agency (now, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) of the Japanese Government to cope with the rapid advancement of society.

“JUSE has managed the Deming Prize, which is well known in the field of Total Quality Management. Moreover, we are a member of the sponsor group of the Campaign “Quality Month” in November in Japan. During recent years, more than 20,000 people, including 500 senior managers from enterprises, have been taking part in our Education and Training Courses every year, and that is one of our main activities,” said a JUSE official.

Education and Training Courses organised by JUSE include Quality Management, QC Circle; Reliability Engineering; Multivariate Analysis, Design of Experiment; Marketing Analysis, Sensory Evaluation, Products Liability and the last category is ISO Management System(QMS, EMS), OHSMS, ISMS and others.

According to an indian industrialist who is accompanying the delegation, the joint meeting of JUSE and CII Quality Institute will further enhance the capabilities of the CII Institute of Quality.

“This will further help us to consolidate our partnership with various industry stakeholders across the country. CII Institute of Quality’s larger vision is to emerge as a global centre of excellence for quality. We are looking at more products and services around quality with presence in 40 countries,” said an industrialist who is accompanying the CII Institute of Quality Bengaluru delegation to Japan.
