Jaya Hind Bets Big on India’s Manufacturing Future with ₹200-Crore Chennai Expansion

As global OEMs and EV players ramp up demand, the aluminium die-casting major deepens capacity, vertical integration, and export readiness in Tamil Nadu.

Chennai, NFAPost: At a time when India’s manufacturing ambitions are increasingly aligned with global supply chains and the electric mobility transition, Jaya Hind Industries (JHI), part of Dr. Abhay Firodia Group-owned Force Motors,  has signalled its long-term intent with a significant capacity expansion in southern India.

The company on Wednesday marked the ground-breaking ceremony for the expansion of its Chennai die-casting facility, reinforcing its commitment to advanced manufacturing, vertical integration, and future-ready capabilities under the Make in India vision.

Located at Kottaiyur Village in Thiruvallur District, Tamil Nadu, the expansion will see an investment of approximately ₹200 crore, positioning the facility as one of Jaya Hind’s most advanced manufacturing hubs. The enlarged plant will house High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) machines ranging from 1,400 to 4,400 tonnes, enabling the production of everything from conventional internal combustion engine components to EV parts and large structural aluminium castings.

Capacity Expansion Driven by Strong Order Momentum

The expansion is not speculative. According to the company, a robust pipeline of confirmed domestic and export orders has fully utilised existing capacity, making augmentation imperative. Once fully operational, the Chennai plant is expected to have an installed capacity of nearly 20,000 tonnes per annum, catering to a diversified customer base that includes global majors such as Cummins and Generac in the US, domestic OEMs like TVS Motor Company, and a growing ecosystem of EV module manufacturers.

A new manufacturing shed spanning nearly 13,000 square metres is planned, designed to integrate advanced die-casting, machining, and downstream processes within a single facility — a hallmark of Jaya Hind’s vertically integrated operating model.

Deepening Vertical Integration for Quality and Control

Beyond scale, the expansion underscores JHI’s strategic focus on end-to-end process control. The upgraded Chennai facility will incorporate critical in-house capabilities such as machining, powder coating, heat treatment, honing, and impregnation, aimed at improving quality assurance, reducing dependency on external vendors, and handling increasingly complex component requirements.

Jaya Hind Industries Managing Director Prasan Firodia

Jaya Hind Industries Managing Director Prasan Firodia said this expansion marks a significant milestone in Jaya Hind Industries’ growth journey.

“With strong order momentum across domestic and export markets, the Chennai facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting our die-casting capacity while deepening our vertical integration. By investing in advanced HPDC and machining capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to deliver high-quality, complex aluminium solutions with greater control, consistency, and speed,” he said Jaya Hind Industries Managing Director Prasan Firodia.

Jaya Hind Industries Managing Director Prasan Firodia also said the Tamil Nadu project aligns closely with India’s ambition to build globally competitive manufacturing capabilities.

A Legacy Player Scaling for the EV and Global Era

Founded in 1947 and part of the Dr. Abhay Firodia Group, Jaya Hind Industries has evolved into one of India’s largest and most trusted aluminium die-casting companies, with operations spanning Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh. The company operates a fleet of over 45 HPDC machines ranging from 160 to 4,400 tonnes, many of which are fully automated with robotic extraction and real-time process controls.

Its customer roster reads like a global automotive directory — BMW, Volkswagen Group, Daimler, Volvo, Stellantis, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Bosch, among others — underscoring its credibility as a Tier-1 supplier in both ICE and EV value chains.

JHI’s capabilities extend beyond India. Through its acquisition of LMG Manufacturing GmbH in Germany, the group has strengthened its European footprint, supplying high-precision electromobility components to global OEMs, including parts for BMW’s next-generation Neue Klasse electric vehicle platforms.

Positioned for the Next Manufacturing Cycle

With aluminium castings playing a central role in vehicle lightweighting, electrification, and localisation strategies, Jaya Hind’s Chennai expansion comes at a critical inflection point for the industry. As OEMs seek resilient, vertically integrated suppliers capable of scale, precision, and speed, the company’s ₹200-crore bet reflects a broader confidence in India’s manufacturing-led growth story.

For Jaya Hind Industries, the expanded Chennai facility is not just about capacity — it is about future-proofing its position in a rapidly evolving global automotive and industrial landscape.
