Indrajaal Unveils India’s First Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle, Redefining Border Security

A fully mobile, AI-enabled patrol vehicle promises to transform India’s response to rising drone-led threats, from smuggling to terror infiltration.

Bengaluru, NFAPost: In a major stride toward strengthening India’s border security architecture, Indrajaal Drone Defence has unveiled the country’s first Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle (ADPV) — a purpose-built, AI-integrated combat platform designed to detect, track, and neutralise hostile drones while on the move. Launched in Hyderabad on November 26, 2025, the “Indrajaal Ranger” marks a decisive shift from static counter-drone systems to a dynamic, patrol-based defence model.

The announcement comes amid mounting concerns over the escalating use of drones in cross-border smuggling, surveillance, and terror operations. Two recent incidents have sharpened national attention: an ISI-linked drone-trafficking operation that successfully smuggled weapons deep into Indian territory, and the BSF’s neutralisation of 255 Pakistani drones this year alone — a figure that underscores the scale of drone-enabled narcotics movement across the border.

Together, these cases reveal a troubling trend: drones have become the preferred conduit for weapons and drugs flowing into India’s cities, villages, and vulnerable border communities. In this context, a fast-response, mobile counter-drone capability is no longer an option — it is a strategic necessity.

A Mobile Shield for India’s Borders

Unlike traditional vehicle-mounted systems that require stationary deployment, the ADPV is engineered to operate in transit. It delivers:

  • On-the-move detection and tracking of drones
  • Autonomous threat assessment powered by AI
  • Instant interception and neutralisation in real time
  • Continuous patrolling, surveillance, and coverage across border roads, canals, farmlands, critical corridors, and dense urban zones

This mobility-centric design ensures active deterrence and rapid response — a critical capability in terrains where threats often emerge unpredictably.

A Transformative Leap in National Security

Speaking at the launch, Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey (Retd), PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, former Commander of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, said the system could fundamentally alter India’s counter-drone posture.

“India’s youth deserve a safer nation, free from the shadow of international crime networks. Technologies like the Anti-Drone Patrol Vehicle are not just machines — they are shields protecting our children, our farmers, and our future,” he said.
“With this new Ranger launch, the country and the brave men protecting our Nation will be truly grateful for such a transformative contribution.”

Indrajaal’s Founder and CEO, Kiran Raju, emphasised the company’s mission-focused approach:

“Each drone neutralised translates to lives protected and India’s internal security strengthened. This is our primary mission at Indrajaal — to defend freedom.”

Cutting Off Criminal Networks at the Source

Beyond its technical prowess, the ADPV carries a much broader social impact. By intercepting drones carrying narcotics, weapons, and contraband, the Ranger protects vulnerable youth from the grip of drug networks, prevents arms from reaching urban centres, and shields farmers who live along high-risk border zones.

The vehicle’s automated intelligence system also reduces the operational load on BSF and police units, enabling smarter resource deployment and faster response times. Most importantly, its presence promises to restore confidence and normalcy to communities long overshadowed by drone-enabled crime.

A New Era of Patrol-Based Drone Defence

With the launch of the Indrajaal Ranger, India has taken a decisive step toward a future where borders and critical corridors can be monitored, secured, and defended in real time. As drone-based threats evolve, the nation’s countermeasures must evolve faster — and Indrajaal’s new patrol vehicle signals that evolution in motion.

Mobile, intelligent, and mission-focused, the ADPV represents not just a new machine, but a new mindset in national security: one where every intercepted drone is indeed a life protected.
