Bengaluru, NFAPost: The first event as part of the Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition began on 20th January from the Silicon Valley of Asia with Belgium couple starting their cycling to Goa.
This year’s unique attraction is the Belgium🇧🇪 couple Van der Burght Theo and his partner Rigouts Christine who started their journey from Bengaluru with their own cycles imported from their homeland.
Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition is an annual event with a four-part series in every three months in different locations in the country.
Commenting on the event, Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition CEO Nibi Augustine said the Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition is to sensitise the society on the need for cycling.
“It is a reality that cycling was a necessity earlier. Now different modes of mobility are available to citizen, we have to sensitise them on the need for devoting time for cycling. Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition is a right step in this direction, ” said Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition CEO Nibi Augustine.
Expressing their happiness over their participation at the event, Belgian couple Van der Burght Theo and his partner Rigouts Christine said biking in India is really an experience.
“We regularly participate in cycling across the globe, especially in our home country Belgium. We enjoy going to work with the bike. Last year we did biking from Alappey to Goa via the west coast route. It was a mesmerising experience,” said Belgian couple Van der Burght Theo and his partner Rigouts Christine.
Rigouts Christine also said there is a need for sensitising Indians to do biking as Indian roads are not tuned for biking. “We know that Indian motorists are driving very rashly. Once they are given proper training I belive this can be resolved so that we have better experience while biking,” said Rigouts Christine.
Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition CEO Nibi Augustine said the event will have four legs every year with awareness programmes, exhibitions, startup events, MSME connects etc.
“Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition will organise the event successfully for the two consecutive years in India along with exhibitions and camping events etc. Then we are planning to make it a global event having its presence in Asia Pacific, North America, South America and Europe,” said Arvian Safari Cycling Expedition CEO Nibi Augustine.
