Andhra Pradesh, Kings Infra to Build ₹2,500-Crore Integrated Aquaculture Technology Park in Srikakulam

First-of-its-kind 500-acre innovation hub to position AP as a global leader in AI-driven, sustainable aquaculture; project to catalyse ₹2,000 crore ancillary investments and train 5,000 professionals

NFAPost, Bengaluru: In a landmark push to strengthen India’s blue economy and position Andhra Pradesh as a global aquaculture powerhouse, Kings Infra Ventures Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish a ₹2,500 crore Integrated Maritime Aquaculture Technology Park in Srikakulam, near Visakhapatnam.

Spread across 500 acres, the project is set to become India’s first AI-driven, technology-centric aquaculture innovation hub. As part of the agreement, the State Government has appointed the Srikakulam District Collector to identify suitable land parcels and accelerate statutory approvals—clearing the way for Phase I activities to begin soon after land finalisation.

A Two-Tier Investment Model to Drive Regional Growth

The Technology Park will see a direct investment of ₹500 crore by Kings Infra, partnering investors, and institutions to build the core infrastructure—hatcheries, indoor farming units, processing systems, and R&D facilities. A further ₹2,000 crore in indirect investment is expected through MSMEs, ancillary industries, renewable clusters, tank-based systems, and supply-chain partners.

Designed as a fully integrated aquaculture ecosystem, it will host hatcheries, recirculating indoor farming systems, multi-species culture units, advanced processing lines, a marine bio-actives division, and an AI-enabled digital operations centre.

Government Backs a Transformative Coastal Initiative

Speaking on the significance of the project, Shri Kondapalli Srinivas, Honourable Minister for MSME, said:

“Andhra Pradesh is India’s largest aquaculture-producing hub. Under the leadership and vision of our Honourable Chief Minister, the Kings Maritime Aquaculture Technology Park stands as India’s first-of-its-kind initiative. We are committed to providing the highest level of support, ensuring seamless single-window clearance from land identification to all approvals.

The Chief Minister’s Vision 2030—‘One Entrepreneur in Every Household’—will be greatly strengthened through the R&D and training programs planned as part of this project.

We welcome Kings Infra’s decision to build this transformative ecosystem in Srikakulam and are confident that it will accelerate our broader goals of coastal development, entrepreneurship expansion, and making Andhra Pradesh a preferred global destination for responsible aquaculture.”

AI-Powered Operations: India’s First Fully Digital Aquaculture Park

A defining feature of the project will be BlueTechOS, Kings Infra’s proprietary AI operating system to be built and managed from Vizag. The platform will provide:

  • Real-time water quality and environmental analytics
  • Predictive disease and stress alerts
  • Automated feeding control
  • Machine-learning dashboards
  • End-to-end digital farm management

This integration makes the Technology Park the first AI-driven aquaculture ecosystem in the country.

Skill, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the Core

A major highlight is the Aquaculture Skill & Innovation Centre, which aims to train and certify 5,000 aquaculture professionals over the next five years. The program will include hands-on training in:

  • RAS and indoor farming systems
  • IoT-enabled tanks and sensors
  • Biosecurity management
  • Automated feeding systems
  • AI-based farm operations

The Centre will also support MSME incubation, market access, and entrepreneurship programs. Kings Infra is in discussions with institutions including CMFRI, CIFE, FSI, RGCA, Indian universities, and global partners to boost research and capacity-building.

“Built in India, for the World”

Mr. Shaji Baby John, Chairman & Managing Director of Kings Infra Ventures Ltd., described the initiative as a future-ready blueprint for the global aquaculture sector:

“This project is envisioned as a global model for smart and sustainable aquaculture. We invite international technology leaders, research institutions, and investors to join us in this path-breaking initiative. By integrating AI, biotechnology, automation, and renewable energy into a unified ecosystem, we aim to create the world’s most advanced aquaculture platform—built in India, for the world.

With the strong support of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, this Park will unlock new frontiers for the Blue Economy, generate significant economic and employment opportunities, and set global benchmarks for responsible food production.”

Multi-Species Farming and Circular Economy Focus

The Park will support year-round production of multiple species, including L. Vannamei shrimp, black tiger shrimp, seabass, grouper, tilapia, mud crab, and select marine and freshwater species—expanding India’s export basket.

Marine Nutraceutical & Bio-actives Unit will transform biomass into high-value ingredients such as astaxanthin, Omega-3 oils, marine collagen, and seaweed-derived compounds, enhancing circular economy sustainability.

Strategic Location with Global Connectivity

Mr. Sreeram Inagalla, COO – International Business, Kings Infra Ventures Ltd., emphasised the project’s strategic coastal location:

“We are delighted to establish this landmark project in Srikakulam—a region with exceptional coastal potential, skilled communities, and direct access to global logistics corridors. The Government’s readiness to fast-track land and approvals makes this the ideal destination for India’s next-generation aquaculture hub.

Our mission is to build a fully integrated ecosystem—R&D, multi-species farming, digital operations, processing, training, and bioeconomy verticals. This initiative will transform the aquaculture landscape of Andhra Pradesh while generating large-scale employment, entrepreneurship, and export opportunities.”
