AASGON Founder Abdul Dewale Mohammed Invites WTC Mumbai Chairman Vijay Kalantri For GSUA Summit Awards & Expo At House Of Lords, London


The debut of the Global South Universities Association (GSUA) Summit Awards and Expo will be held on Friday, 18th July 2025, at the House of Lords, the Parliament in London, United Kingdom, with an overwhelming participation of global thought leaders.

The historic event marks the official inauguration of the Global South Universities Association (GSUA); and the inauguration of Global South Centre for Research Innovation Peace and Technology for Sustainable Development (G-SCRIPTS-D).

Mumbai, NFAPost: Abdul Dewale Mohammed, Founder and Group Executive President of the Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON) and the Global South Economic Forum (GSEF), visited the office of Vijay G Kalantri, Chairman of the World Trade Centre Mumbai, located on the 31st floor of the WTC Building in Mumbai.

During the meeting, Abdul Dewale extended an invitation to Vijay Kalantri to be a keynote speaker at the debut Global South Universities Association (GSUA) Summit Awards and Expo at the House of Lords, London, on July 18, 2025. This momentous event will also mark the official launch of the Global South Centre for Research, Innovation, Peace, and Technology for Sustainable Development (G-SCRIPTS-D).

Speaking to TheNFAPost about the invitation, Abdul Dewale Mohammed, who is also a signatory to the UN Global Compact and a member of the UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD), said the event is set to bring together global thought leaders to tackle critical issues related to education, technology, and sustainable development.

“Vijay Kalantri, who also serves as the President of the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and Director of the World Trade Centers’ Association (WTCA) in New York, graciously accepted my invitation to be a keynote speaker at the GSUA ’25 Awards Gala Dinner, at the House of Lords,” said AASGON and GSEF Founder Abdul Dewale Mohammed.

The GSUA Summit will focus on the theme, “Financing Internationalisation of Education and AI in the Global South,” with eminent personalities including Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, China Development Bank Chairman Zhao Huan, and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, alongside Islamic Development Bank Group Chairman Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, and UN Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group Amina J Mohammed, who is expected to be the Chief Guest.

The event will celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations, the First UN International Year of Cooperatives (IYF2025), and the Platinum Jubilee of the Afro-Asian Conference. It will also witness the official inauguration of several associations, including the Global South Farmers Association (GSFA), the Global South Engineers Association (GSEA), and the Global South Architects Association (GSAA).

The event will also have the inauguration of the Global South Solar Energy Association (GSSEA), the Global South Mining Association (GSMA), the Global South Science and Technology Association (GSSTA) and the Global South Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GSCCI).

The GSUA Summit will conclude with the presentation of the ‘Global South Education Leadership’ (GSEL) Awards to distinguished individuals and institutions. This will be followed by a two-day Summit and Expo on 19th and 20th July 2025, at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre, City of Westminster, London.

Expressing his happiness over the invitation for the event, Chairman of the World Trade Centre Mumbai Vijay G Kalantri said it is a great opportunity to interact with the global community and understand the ongoing changes the world over.

“The Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON), the Global South Economic Forum (GSEF) and the Global South Universities Association (GSUA) are putting up a yeoman service to humanity in eradicating asymmetries in society and bring in economic freedom. I do hope discussion on business and technology during the event will open up new avenues of global partnerships,” said Chairman of the World Trade Centre Mumbai Vijay G Kalantri.

Chairman of the World Trade Centre Mumbai Vijay G Kalantri also expressed interest in the Global South Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GSCCI).

During the meeting with Kalantri, Abdul Dewale Mohammed, along with Chairman of World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar, Captain Somesh Batra, WTC Mumbai Executive Director Rupa Naik, and WTC Director of Operations Aakruti Bagwe, emphasized the importance of addressing the growing North-South divide.

“We need to form new structures with an ambitious effort to substantially reduce the ever-increasing ‘Global North-South Divide’, as recently voiced by World Bank President Ajay Banga. We also need to address the lack of sustainable structures identified by the UN Secretary-General to effectively achieve the UN SDGs and rebuild our fractured world, as noted by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, in 2018,” said Mohammed.

AASGON and GSEF Founder Abdul Dewale Mohammed further called on the Board of the WTC Mumbai, its global partners in New York’s WTCA, and other multinational corporations aligned with the Global South to collaborate in creating a lasting legacy for future generations.

The GSUA’s membership includes notable organizations such as the Association of Universities of Africa (AAU), the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), the Association of Indian Principals (AIP), and the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE). Other global associations in the group include are The China Association of Higher Education (CAHE), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Brazilian Association for International Education (FAUBAI), Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUALC).

The invitation given to Chairman of the World Trade Centre Mumbai Vijay G Kalantri assumes significance as AASGON Founder and Group Executive President Abdul Dewale Mohammed global impact projects GSUA Summit and G-SCRIPTS-D are gaining attention the world over as his main objective is to reduce the North and South divide to bring equity in life of human beings using education and business as tools for social intervention.
