Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N.Ashwatha Narayana urges ITCA to launch a Satellite project in a government school
Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwatha Narayana, who also holds the portfolios of higher education and electronics, IT/Bt urged on Tuesday, that he was very keen on initiating a Student Satelite project in a government-run school and all the support would be extended towards realizing this.
He was speaking as a guest of honor after receiving the Conferment of Honorary ITCA (Indian Technology Congress Association) Fellowship in the Success Meet of UNITYsat (3-in-1 JITsat, GHRCEsat, and SriShakthiSat).
At present student satellite projects are being taken up by engineering colleges. But if ITCA comes forward to initiate this kind of project at the government school level, the government would extend all the support, he assured.
“The government of Karnataka will always extend support to Student Satellite projects with the objective of promoting novelty and innovation. The government wishes to encourage ‘Students Satellite Projects of Karnakata’, in line with, ‘Israel Schools’ Students Satellite Projects, and the cost of production of satellites has come down because of indigenous technology and other factors,” said the Minister.
These three satellites are being part of 75 satellites consortium: Mission 2022, to celebrate India’s 75 years of Independence.
