Jio Introduces JioShield to Help Families Stay Safe

Mumbai, NFAPost: As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Jio is introducing JioShield, a family safety solution designed to help Jio users keep their loved ones safe, both out of home and online.

It helps parents stay connected with their children/elderly parents while giving children/elderly parents the freedom to explore, learn and play.

The annual JioShield subscription is available for ₹1,000 (equivalent to ₹83 per month). As part of the Jio 10th anniversary offer, customers get a ₹1,000 Jio recharge voucher, making the JioShield subscription effectively free.

HOW JIOSHIELD WORKS

JioShield works with a pair set of apps

  • Parent App: JioThings app for parents
  • Child App: JioShield app installed on the child’s phone
  • Parents can manage screen time, apps and contacts, track location and receive safety alerts once the two apps are linked
  • Children/elders get a safer, age-appropriate digital experience

DEVICE AND NUMBER REQUIREMENT

  • Child’s phone: Android smartphone running Android 10 or above with an active Jio mobile number
  • Parent’s phone: JioThings app (currently available on Android)
  • Parents need to log in using the Jio number associated with their JioShield subscription
  • JioThings will be available for all users on iOS from 1 October 2026
  • Both parent and child need to register with a Jio number to enrol in JioShield

JioShield ₹1,000 Anniversary Offer will be available for eligible customers from 26th September 2026.
