Bengaluru, NFAPost: The Kannada feature film Fire Fly, produced by Niveditha Shivrajkumar, received an encouraging response at the 17th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes), where it was screened in the Kannada Cinema Competition section. The film marks Niveditha Shivrajkumar’s debut as a producer and emerged as one of the well-received titles at this year’s festival.
Directed by Vamshi Krishna Srinivas, Fire Fly features a strong ensemble cast including Anand Ninasam, Rachana Inder, Achyuth Kumar and Sudharani in pivotal roles. The film’s screening attracted a diverse audience comprising Kannada cinema enthusiasts, delegates from other states, and international festival attendees.
A Proud Moment for a First-Time Producer
Speaking after the screening, producer Niveditha Shivrajkumar expressed her happiness at the film being selected and showcased at one of the country’s most prominent film festivals.
“It is a matter of great joy for us that Fire Fly was screened at the 17th Bengaluru International Film Festival,” she said. “I am grateful to the festival organisers for giving our film this platform.”
She noted that the appreciation received from audiences made the experience particularly special, marking a meaningful beginning to her journey as a producer.

Director Vamshi Krishna Srinivas highlighted the positive reception the film received from viewers across regions and backgrounds.
“It is very encouraging that not only Kannada audiences, but also viewers from other states and countries watched the film at BIFFes and appreciated it,” he said.
He also pointed out that Fire Fly is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video, allowing the film to reach a wider audience beyond the festival circuit.

The presence of cinematographer Abhishek Kallatti at the post-screening interaction added to the film’s visibility at the festival. The positive response to Fire Fly further reinforced BIFFes’ role as a vital platform for showcasing emerging talent and new voices in Kannada cinema.
