‘YUVA AI for ALL’ marks a decisive step in democratising artificial intelligence education and preparing citizens for a tech-shaped future
Bengaluru, NFAPost: As artificial intelligence moves from specialised labs into everyday life, India is sharpening its focus on a new national priority: ensuring that its citizens understand, use, and benefit from AI at scale. In a significant move towards that goal, Simplilearn has partnered with the IndiaAI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology(MeitY) to roll out the national YUVA AI for ALL foundational course on its learning platform.
The collaboration is aligned with India’s ambition to make at least 10 million citizens AI-literate, cutting across age groups, geographies, and socio-economic backgrounds. It also comes at a time when India is emerging as one of the most active adopters of AI in the Asia-Pacific region, with 56% of adults in metropolitan areas already using generative AI tools in 2025.
Democratising AI Knowledge
The YUVA AI for ALL programme has been designed as a free and accessible learning pathway, introducing learners to the basics of artificial intelligence, its real-world applications, and its impact on work and daily life. By hosting the course on Simplilearn’s platform, the IndiaAI Mission aims to dramatically expand its reach—making foundational AI education available to students, working professionals, and citizens with little or no prior technical background.
At its core, the initiative reflects a shift in how AI education is being approached nationally: not as an elite or specialist skill, but as a form of digital literacy essential to participation in the modern economy.
“AI literacy has become a fundamental requirement in today’s digital economy,” said Krishna Kumar, Founder and CEO of Simplilearn. “It is important not just for IT professionals, but for citizens across all backgrounds. We need to engage with technologies that are becoming central to every discipline.”
Kumar added that as an upskilling platform, Simplilearn recognises the urgency of delivering accessible, well-informed AI education at scale, and that partnering with IndiaAI enables the company to contribute meaningfully to a national priority.
A National Mission Meets a Global Platform
Under the partnership, Simplilearn will host and launch the YUVA AI for ALL course, with learners receiving a co-branded certificate issued by IndiaAI (MeitY, Government of India) and Simplilearn. The programme combines Simplilearn’s digital delivery capabilities and structured learning design with the government’s extensive repository of AI and technology resources.
The result is a standardised and widely accessible framework for foundational AI learning—one that can be consumed across regions and demographics, regardless of prior exposure to advanced technologies.
For the IndiaAI Mission, the collaboration represents a practical pathway to scale outreach and awareness rapidly.
“The IndiaAI Mission is committed to building widespread AI awareness and ensuring that emerging technologies become accessible to every citizen,” said Abhishek Singh, CEO of the IndiaAI Mission. “Collaborating with leading online learning platforms like Simplilearn strengthens our ability to reach millions.”
Singh noted that the mission’s objective is to ensure India’s workforce and youth are equipped with foundational AI skills that will support them in a future increasingly shaped by digital technologies.
Building a Digitally Competent Society
Beyond individual upskilling, the initiative is positioned as a building block in India’s broader digital transformation agenda. By lowering barriers to AI education, YUVA AI for ALL seeks to widen participation in the digital economy and ensure that the benefits of AI-driven growth are more evenly distributed.
This emphasis on inclusion—across age, income, and geography—underscores the government’s view that AI literacy is not merely a workforce issue, but a societal capability.
The partnership also highlights the growing role of public–private collaboration in India’s technology strategy, where government-led missions are increasingly leveraging private-sector platforms to achieve scale and speed.
