Three-day cultural extravaganza to showcase Odisha’s timeless traditions, craftsmanship, cuisine, and tourism potential
NFAPost, Bengaluru: The Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with FICCI, announced the much-awaited Odisha Parab 2025 at a press conference held at The LaLiT Ashok, Bengaluru. Scheduled from 15th to 17th November 2025, the grand event promises to bring the soul of Odisha to the heart of Karnataka through an immersive showcase of culture, craft, cuisine, and tourism.
The announcement was led by Smt. Pravati Parida, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, along with top government officials, marking a significant moment in Odisha’s mission to deepen its cultural and economic engagement with Bengaluru.
“A Story of Culture, Progress, and Possibilities”
Speaking at the press meet, Smt. Pravati Parida highlighted Odisha’s commitment to preserving heritage while embracing growth.
“Through Odisha Parab, we want to share not only our vibrant culture but also our story of progress — a story of how Odisha honours its roots while moving forward with confidence and creativity. Odisha today is a State of opportunities, rich in heritage, strong in values, and vibrant in growth,” she said.
Adding to this, Smt. Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-ACS, Government of Odisha, emphasised the State’s intent to engage meaningfully with audiences beyond its borders.
“Odisha Parab is our endeavour to showcase the State’s vibrant culture, traditions, and tourism potential to a wider national audience. We aim to deepen Odisha’s cultural connect with Bengaluru and highlight the unique experiences that make our State a leading destination for travellers, adventure lovers, investors, and culture enthusiasts.”
Crafts, Handlooms, and the Timeless Artisanal Legacy
The event will feature an extensive Craft and Handloom Pavilion, bringing together Odisha’s globally admired craftsmanship. Visitors can expect to experience:
- Silver filigree, palm leaf engravings, wood and stone carvings, brass and bell metal applique, and traditional wooden toys
- Handloom masterpieces including Sambalpuri tie-and-dye sarees, tussar silk, and signature creations from Boyanika, Resham Odisha, and Bastralaya
- Unique crafts by Mission Shakti artisans: golden grass craft (Jagatsinghpur), Dhokra (Dhenkanal), Pattachitra (Puri)
- Showcases by ORMAS and ADISHA featuring jute crafts (Puri), tribal jewellery (Nabarangpur), and the renowned Koraput Coffee
Over 30 artisans from across Odisha will participate, offering visitors an authentic glimpse into the State’s living craft traditions.
A Culinary Trail Through Odisha
One of the star attractions of Odisha Parab will be its elaborate Odia Cuisine pavilion. Culinary partners including Chef Sai Priya, Mayfair Hotels, Dalma Hotel, Odisha Hotel, Rasagulla.com, OTDC, and Subhadra Shakti Group will curate a rich gastronomic journey.
The menu will highlight traditional dishes such as Anna, Dalma, Mahura Ganta, Mutton Chop, Pakudi, and a spectacular array of pithas and sweets — including Enduri, Arisa, Handi Muan, Chhena Poda, and the iconic Rasagola. Millet-based bakery and confectionery items by Chocolaca Millet Counter and OTDC’s Nimantranrestaurant will showcase Odisha’s innovative culinary evolution.
Culture, Dance, and the Performing Arts
Odisha Parab’s cultural segment promises to captivate audiences with performances representing the State’s classical elegance and folk vibrance. Featured art forms include:
- Odissi
- Gotipua
- Chhau
- Sambalpuri folk dance
Renowned cultural institutions such as the Adyasha Foundation, Gayatri Kala Sangathana, Debnrutyam Dance Academy, A.K. Creation, and Painri will bring the State’s artistic excellence to the Bengaluru stage.
Tourism Showcase: From Eco Retreats to Ancient Heritage
In addition to art and culture, Odisha Parab will shine a spotlight on the State’s unique tourism offerings, including:
- Eco Retreats
- Bhitarkanika mangroves
- Satkosia gorge
- Daringbadi (Odisha’s own “Kashmir”)
- The Buddhist Circuit
The three-day event will also feature B2B and G2B meetings, hospitality roadshows, and diaspora engagements, creating opportunities for tourism, hospitality, and creative industry partnerships.
Among the dignitaries present were Shri Balwant Singh, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of Tourism; Dr. Bijay Ketan Upadhyaya, Secretary, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Department; and Shri Deepankar Mahapatra, Director, Department of Tourism.
