India’s Manufacturing Powerhouse Ignites: IMS 2025 Opens with a Grand Showcase of Innovation, Industry, and National Pride

The Indian Manufacturing Show 2025 in Bengaluru brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to spotlight India’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub driven by technology, defence, and MSME strength.

NFAPost, Bengaluru: The Indian Manufacturing Show (IMS 2025) opened its doors at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) with a spectacular inauguration ceremony, setting the stage for three days of showcasing India’s industrial strength and technological prowess.

The grand opening was graced by Shri Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Minister of New and Renewable Energy, who inaugurated the event as the Chief Guest. The show — jointly organised by the IMS Foundation under the aegis of Laghu Udyog Bharati and India Exposition Mart Ltd. — is supported by the Ministry of DefenceMinistry of MSMEMinistry of Steel & Heavy Industries, and the Government of Karnataka.

This 7th edition of IMS is the largest yet, featuring over 450 exhibitors, including 220 MSMEs, state pavilions, and major government and defence PSUs. The event serves as a collaborative platform bridging industry, innovation, and policy, underscoring India’s march toward self-reliance and global leadership in manufacturing.

A Convergence of Visionary Leaders

The inauguration witnessed a distinguished gathering of leaders from government, industry, and research institutions, including Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for MSME, Labour and Employment; Shri Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bengaluru South; Shri Sunil Deodhar, Former BJP National Secretary; Shri Narayana Prasanna, President, Laghu Udyog Bharati–Karnataka; Shri HVS Krishna, Chairman, IMS Foundation; Shri Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Expo Centre & Mart; Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary DDR&D and Chairman, DRDO; Shri V. Delivering the keynote address, Shri Pralhad Joshi underlined the strategic significance of India’s manufacturing transformation, stating:

“India’s manufacturing potential is entering a decisive decade where innovation, sustainability, and value creation will shape our global standing. Platforms like IMS catalyse this transformation by connecting industry, policy, and technology under one roof.”

Echoing this sentiment, Sushri Shobha Karandlaje emphasized the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving industrial growth:

“The strength of India’s manufacturing story lies in the entrepreneurial spirit of small and medium industries. The government remains firmly committed to empowering them with opportunities, skilling, and global access.”

Shri Tejasvi Surya, MP from Bengaluru South, celebrated the city’s evolving industrial landscape:

“Bengaluru is evolving beyond its identity as a technology capital and emerging as a hub of advanced manufacturing, defence innovation, and deep-tech engineering — all of which find powerful expression at IMS 2025.”

Representing Karnataka’s industrial community, Shri Narayana Prasanna, President of Laghu Udyog Bharati–Karnataka, remarked:

“IMS 2025 reflects the collective determination of Indian industries to collaborate, scale, and compete globally. Karnataka is proud to champion this momentum through its vibrant MSME base and innovation-driven ecosystem.”

IMS 2025: The Future of Global Manufacturing

This year’s edition features IMSCON 2025, a two-day international conference themed “Empowering India: The Future of Global Manufacturing.” The conference brings together influential voices such as Baba KalyaniSatyanarayan Nuwal, and Shaurya Doval, who will share perspectives on shaping India’s manufacturing strategy in a changing global economy.

Exhibitors and visitors will witness groundbreaking innovations spanning aerospace, defence, advanced materials, and green manufacturing. Highlights include new homegrown aircraft and spacecraft technologiesindigenously developed defence systems, and next-generation digital and sustainable manufacturing solutions.
