The annual conference for women in technology and their allies is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, with the theme “समAI: Time for AI to Get a Desi Twist!”
Organised by Wequity (Equality Through Equity), WITfluence 2025 marks a significant milestone with its 6th Wequity Awards Ceremony, honoring technologists, advocates, and organizations driving diversity and equity in the tech ecosystem.

This year’s conference features an array of interactive showcases, expert-led sessions, and dynamic networking opportunities aimed at nurturing growth and cross-industry collaboration.
Among the highlights is the Live Innovation Showcase by students, themed “From Farm to Table: AI in the Entire Food Supply Chain.” Participants will demonstrate AI-driven solutions for agriculture and retail — competing for the Albertsons’ Young TechMaker Award.
Complementing the innovation showcase are hands-on workshops and curated sessions led by leading technology experts, speed mentoring opportunities with senior industry leaders, and corporate stalls offering insights into hiring trends, skills demand, and internship openings.

WITfluence 2025 will also spotlight trailblazers and corporate champions who have supported Wequity’s mission of inclusivity over the past five years.
The event will honor Ms. Uma Reddy, the first woman President of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), for her pioneering contributions to leadership and entrepreneurship. समAI: A Call for Culturally Rooted AI
At the heart of this year’s celebration lies the concept of समAI (sama-ai) — a fusion of “sama” (meaning equality or balance in Sanskrit) and “AI.” The theme represents an urgent call to make Artificial Intelligence more empathetic, culturally relevant, and locally inspired.
The Theme Note Insight will be presented by Ankush Sabharwal, setting the tone for discussions around how India can shape its own AI narrative. Adding to the day’s intellectual depth, Jill Pavlovich will deliver a keynote titled “Digital Joy: Designing Empathetic, Purpose-Led Retail Experiences in Today’s AI-enabled World.”

In a creative fusion of tradition and technology, Harini Kende, founder of Kavilaya Dance Academy, will perform a captivating Kathak piece reflecting the spirit of balance — the very essence of समAI.
The day will conclude with “Brewed Connections,” a dedicated tea and coffee networking segment that encourages meaningful conversations among innovators, mentors, and industry leaders.
