Dubai, NFAPost: While UAE is preparing for COP28, 15-year-old Musthafa, along with his mother Sara are in the country for a humanitarian cause.
Musthafa Yassir Abbas Deyab and Sara Musthafa Ali Ekhider are participating in the upcoming COP28 not only to address climate issues but also to support their fellow beings. Musthafa’s family had to flee Sudan due to the ongoing war, but their home continues to provide water and electricity to their neighbours through solar power.
Musthafa joined with the Solar Company to help Internally Displaced People (IDP) to give solar power and teach children IoT. Building solar panels was a challenging task for Musthafa’s family. However, the determined young scout found a solution to overcome the financial burden.
Using innovative coding techniques, the 15-year-old boy developed a system that harnesses solar power to generate electricity and pump water in their household. He has now become proficient in teaching other children how to implement this technology, which is benefiting their community.
“I want to help the United Nations UN to implement the digital coding through the 17 SDGs said Musthafa. Now doing Global Partnership for Goals SDG17 to implement SDG4 quality education. My example is using a new IoT technology to make STEM projects using few lines of easy coding compared to many hundreds lines of difficult code. I use Few lines to save time to add more features and functions to the IOT projects to win STEM coding Competitions,” said Musthafa Yassir Abbas Deyab.
Mustafa proposed an idea to teach the children of solar customers about STEM, IoT, AI, and easy coding. In return, the company would reduce the repayment for each new customer. The solar company was impressed by this idea and implemented it successfully. With each new customer, the solar company reduces the repayment by $500 per month. As a result, Mustafa’s family now enjoys free solar power.
In April, many people fled the war-affected area of Khartoum, leaving their homes and families behind in search of safer areas. Some individuals faced financial constraints and were unable to afford transportation or the cost of accommodation.
In their hometown of Omdorman, both water and electricity services were disrupted. The government provided the only available water source. In this situation, Mustafa’s family generously allowed their neighbours to directly access power outlets from the batteries of their solar panels and use solar energy to pump water. This assistance has been of significant help to their neighbours.
Musthafa Yassir Abbas Deyab has partnered with the solar company to support Internally displaced people (IDP) by providing solar power and teaching children about IoT. He aims to assist the United Nations (UN) in implementing digital coding through the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly focusing on SDG4 for quality education.
Sara Elkhide, proud mother of Musthafa Yassir Abbas Deyab, expressed her unwavering faith in Mustafa’s abilities, citing his bravery and strong determination, as she stood by him in what many deemed an impossible endeavor.
“I am very happy to know that my son is going to COP28 summit happening at Dubai. His journey is full of struggle and he wants to make disrupt society with innovative solution. As a mom my dream is to make his life successful,” said Sara Elkhide.
Musthafa’s approach involves utilising new IoT technology to simplify STEM projects, using fewer lines of code compared to traditional methods. This allows for time-saving and the addition of more features and functions to IoT projects, thus increasing their chances of success in STEM coding competitions.
To promote their initiatives, Musthafa has created a QR code for the solar company. By scanning the QR code, individuals can access information on 7 IoT projects, which can help them excel in STEM and potentially secure scholarships or part-time jobs.
STEMSEL Technologies Founder and Chief Executive Officer Peng Choo and STEMSEL Foundation Technical Manager Miroslav Kostecki are the mentors.
Musthafa’s project has been recognised and awarded the UN SDG Digital Game Changers Award. As a result, they have been selected to represent the solar company at COP 28.
In addition to their participation in COP 28, Musthafa and his family are dedicated to spreading the important message of promoting green energy and a sustainable planet. Their efforts are driven by humanitarian reasons and a commitment to creating a better world to live.
