Bengaluru, NFAPost: As part of its initiative to strengthen its security features and comply with local data protection law, WhatsApp will roll out new terms of service from February 8, 2021. If users of app fail to comply with it, they may lose access to the instant messaging application.
The Facebook-owned WhatApp is bringing new Terms and Privacy Policy Updates and further expand its product feature offerings. The new update states that if users do not comply with the new terms of service, they could lose all access. “If you don’t agree with the changes, you can delete your WhatsApp account within WhatsApp Settings.
The report also shared screenshots that indicated the recent updates in the Terms and Privacy Policy soon to be rolled out by the Facebook-owned company.
According to WhatsApp new policy update, users will reportedly be given information about WhatsApp’s service and how the company processes user data. Moreover, it will also explain how businesses can use Facebook-hosted services to store and manage chats as an add on service.
WhatsApp has also announced an array of new updates. In the latest update, Facebook-owned instant messaging service WhatsApp has introduced new features: The wallpapers can be customised per chat, with an updated wallpaper gallery. It has also introduced additional doodle wallpapers, and the ability to set separate wallpapers for light and dark mode settings.
An expert says, as the users become very high, many don’t want to move out of the free services. However, with this newer policy will make many to move out of WhatsApp. Last but not the least, an cyber security expert says, all the conversations of WhatsApp can be retrieved by the third party, when thoe WhatsApp claims on its end to end encryption
