Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi speaks at Japan-India Deep Tech Innovation Clean Energy Seminar giving clear path of bilateral relationship
Bengaluru, NFAPost: The larger picture of Indo-US relationship after Modi’s recent official visit is unveiling now as Japan has announced it will work with India to strengthen the semiconductor supply chain. This is in addition to the partnership in hydregen fuel and amonia.
In a tweet, Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated India and Japan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi for developing semiconductor ecosystem in line with P M Narendra Modi’s vision for Make-In-India.
“After PM Narendra Modi’s state visit to the US, in which major announcements were made for joint development of technology, the trust in India is increasing. Many more countries want to develop technology with India,” said Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Furelling increased bilateral economic cooperation, Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi announced the details at an event in New Delhi.
“Two countries will increase the exchange of human resources as part of the measures. There is a lot of potential in cooperation between India, which has excellent human resources, and Japan, which excels in manufacturing equipment and materials,” said Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi.
The Japenese minister’s statement assumes significance as multiple companies which evinced interest to invest in high-tech areas never got government approval. According to sources privy to these info had revealed to TheNFAPost that multiple companies in these areas wounded up their offices after failing to get permission from Japanese government.
Delivering the keynote speech at Japan-India Deep Tech Innovation Clean Energy Seminar, Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi said he will fulfill his mission as chairman of the parliamentary federation by firmly carrying on the thoughts of former Prime Minister Abe, who always said, “A strong India is for Japan, and a strong Japan is for India.”
“India is in Transformation. India’s population surpassed that of China to become the world’s largest, its economic scale (GDP) surpassed that of the United Kingdom to become the fifth largest in the world, and the number of automobiles sold surpassed Japan to become the third largest in the world, and continues to grow,” said Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi.
He also said In the face of multiple crises, including natural disasters, pandemics, and geopolitical tensions, Japan will strengthen cooperation with India as a leader of the “Global South” as a “Special Strategic Partner.”
“Japan-India Industry Co-Creation Initiative” announced three pillars and they are: (1) Future industry pillars, (2) Even existing industrial fields such as textiles and steel will evolve to meet the needs of the new era, and (3) The achievements of industrial cooperation between Japan and India will be further spread to the world, expansion to third countries,” said Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi.
Japanese Industry Minister Nishimura Yasutoshi said the countries will also work together to establish a basis for semiconductor production.
The agreement covers other areas, including steel. The countries say they will work together to cut carbon emissions from the production process.
