New Delhi, NFAPost: As a precursor to the 1st GSUA’25 Summit Awards and International Exhibition to be held in London from July 18th to 20th, 2025, Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON) organises the World Press Conference at the Press Club of India, in the city on Tuesday and announed the launch of 10,000 Indian University Scholarships for African countries.
In a message delivered by Dr. Alex Mubiru, Director General, Office of the President, African Development Bank Group, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, praised Abdul Dewale Mohammed, Founder and Group Executive President of the Africa Asia Scholars Global Network (AASGON), and his team for their commitment to advancing the cause of the Global South.
Speaking at the press conference, AASGON Secretary General Brijesh Mathur highlighted that the summit will bring together influential voices from both the public and private sectors to explore solutions for improving the global education system and fostering sustainable growth.
“The event will witness the launch of several key organisations under the Global South Umbrella Association (GSUA), including the Global South Centre for Research Innovation Peace and Technology for Sustainable Development, Global South Farmers Association, Global South Engineers Association, Global South Architects Association, Global South Solar Energy Association, Global South Mining Association, Global South Science and Technology Association, and the Global South Chambers of Commerce and Industry,” said AASGON Secretary General Brijesh Mathur.
AASGON Founder and Group Executive President Abdul Dewale Mohammed said 1st GSUA’25 Summit Awards and International Exhibition to be held in London will be a historical moment as the event aims to address critical issues facing the 134 nations of the Global South, which account for 88% of the world’s population and possess abundant human and natural resources but remain underdeveloped.
“The event draws inspiration from the historic 1955 Asia-Africa Conference and recognizes the efforts of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose leadership in promoting global equity and strengthening South-South cooperation has played a pivotal role in driving this vision forward,” said AASGON Founder and Group Executive President Abdul Dewale Mohammed.
As a signatory to the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and a member of the UK Stakeholders for Sustainable Development (UKSSD), AASGON remains committed to narrowing the divide between the Global North and South. The summit will address concerns raised by World Bank President Ajay Banga about the growing mistrust between regions and work towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
