TheNFAPost JanManch and NFAPostTV ChunavKiAdalat, part of our four-day Lok Sabha Election 2024 coverage tour started from Bengaluru at 11 am Saturday morning (06-04-2024) and ended by reaching back at 10.15 pm on Tuesday (09-04-2024). I started my tour from Tumkuru and then reached Hassan. After that Mangalore, Ujjire and Sullia in Karnataka. I entered Kerala via Kasargod district and visited Badiyadukka, Kasargod Town, Cheruvathur, Kannur and Iritty. After that Entered Karnataka via Gonikuppe and touched Hunsur and reached Mysore. (Mysuru and Mandya were part of the itinerary but had to cancel due to time shortage)
My engagement with farmers, daily wage earners, industry workers, government professionals, self-employed individuals, students, academia, politicians, government officials, forest dwellers, fishermen etc gave me a clear picture on the positivity enshrined in mankind. They are dreaming a lot and working hard to realise that dream along with their family and society. India’s 18th Lok Sabha Election also they are looking at with the expectation that it will bring some change in their life.
Now how far our politicians fulfil these dreams of our electorate is a big question. Decision-making and implementation via legislation are the mandates of Indian politicians. It is high time that they should rise up to the expectations of the electorate. Come up with a concrete action plan by bringing holistic development initiatives and take into confidence the citizens. It is high time for Indian political classes to come out of their parochial mindset and work for nation-building in the right spirit; just like the zeal showed by our great unknown freedom fighters against the British Raj.
Having a tech-savvy youth who are ready to come up with disruptive solutions and a diaspora who are ready to work for a second freedom struggle, Indian politicians should rise up to the expectations of all Indian citizens. It is time for them to build confidence by bringing in the best governance practices, and policy implementation and coming up with corrective steps as to err is human and forgive is divine. Tech-savvy entrepreneurs in Bengaluru, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kannur and Mysuru along with the larger student community and youth with whom I interacted said they are ready to shoulder these responsibilities along with Indian politicians. Hope our elected political leaders after the 18th Lok Sabha elections should work with the mantra “Reform, Perform and Transform India”
