Bhuwaneshwar, NFAPost: BPCL inaugurated its 1,711th CNG fuel station in Bargarh, Odisha, as part of company efforts to further cementing its commitment to provide clean energy solutions in nation development.
Speaking to reporters after inauguration the CNG gas station, BPCL Director (Marketing) Sukhmal Jain said BPCL is spearheading the expansion of the City Gas Distribution network across more than 107 districts.
“As part of that we are also expanding our presence in Odisha. BPCL is entrusted with the responsibility to establish the gas infrastructure by PNGRB, a statutory body to regulate downstream activities in the petroleum and natural gas sector in India,” said BPCL Director (Marketing) Sukhmal Jain.
As part of the company’s awareness programme, BPCL Director (Marketing) Sukhmal Jain also flagged off the PNG Registration Rath in Sambalpur, Orissa. The event was also attended by BPCL ED Incharge Retail Santosh Kumar, BPCL ED, E&P D. Mandal and other distinguished BPCL officials.
“PNG Registration Rath initiative aims to bring awareness about PNG connections directly to the doorsteps of residents across the region, making registration hassle-free and accessible to all,” said BPCL Director (Marketing) Sukhmal Jain.
Besides providing clean energy, BPCL is laser focussed on its commitment to India’s energy independence initiatives via “Aatma Nirbhar Bharat” and “Vocal for Local”. During India Energy Week 2024, BPCL unveiled a prototype for the indigenous hydrogen production through alkeline water electrolyser.
At India Energy Week 2024, BPCL Chairman and Managing Director G Krishnakumar lauded the contribution of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) to collaboratively develop the prototype. He also said the new technology process is crucial for achieving high cell efficiency and durability in an alkaline environment, aligning with India’s ambition to produce 5 million tons of of green hydrogen by 2030.
