Government Initiatives and State Incentives Explored in IESA’s 2024 Edition of Compendium for Semiconductor and ESDM Industry
Bengaluru, NFAPost: India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) has launched the 2024 Edition of the “Compendium of Semiconductor & ESDM Policies in India.” The report, unveiled by Shri. S. Krishnan, Secretary MEITY, during the IESA Vision Summit 2024, serves as a comprehensive guide to the diverse policies and incentives offered by the Government of India and 14 states for the Semiconductor and Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
The Indian government plays a pivotal role in fostering the growth of the Semiconductor and ESDM industry by providing financial and non-financial support and creating an enabling business environment. The report extensively covers policies from 8 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh, with a specific mention of catering to the Semiconductor Industry. Notably, four states (Gujarat, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh) have already introduced dedicated Semiconductor Policies.
Prepared in collaboration with Feedback Advisory, the report acts as a ready reckoner for various stakeholders, including government officials, investors, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and future policymakers. It offers a factual summary of Semiconductor and ESDM-related policies at both the national and state levels, addressing key aspects such as Manufacturing & Fabless Policy, Eligibility Criteria, Fiscal Subsidies, Non-Fiscal Subsidies, and Policies for Fabless Firms.
