Charting New Frontiers in India
Nelson’s visit to India will span various locations, with a special focus on Bengaluru-based facilities where the NISAR spacecraft is undergoing rigorous testing and integration. NISAR, an acronym for NASA ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, represents a groundbreaking collaboration between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). As the first joint Earth-observing mission, NISAR is poised to revolutionize our understanding of Earth’s ecosystems, surfaces, and ice masses.
Laurie Leshin, Director of Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), NASA, expressed the enthusiasm of scientists from both agencies working closely on the NISAR mission.
