Dubai, NFAPost: General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) organised a special celebration for senior citizens as part of international day for older persons.
The celebrations included the cruise ship journey and distribution of gifts to them. The Tukhar Social Club was involved in organising the programme. Video calling services were introduced as well. The programme is part of social responsibility initiative to provide greater attention and care to senior citizens.
During the trip, GDRFA Assistant Director of Institutional Support Brigadier General Hussain Ibrahim Ahmed provided information about the special consideration and services offered to senior citizens.
“There is an importance of creating a suitable environment for senior citizens. It is high time that we should improve the quality of life of senior citizens,” said GDRFA Assistant Director of Institutional Support Brigadier General Hussain Ibrahim Ahmed.
The event included entertainment programmes and other activities to make the passengers enjoy a wonderful experience on board the luxury ship and to positively affect the condition and increase the happiness of the participants.
The day was introduced by the United Nations General Assembly on October 1, the World Day of Older Persons, to pay special attention to the elderly and to examine the issues they face. The purpose of Old Age Day is to emphasise the significance of respecting and caring for older individuals and their significant contributions to society.
