New Delhi, NFAPost: In her address on the eve of India’s 77th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the growing confidence in the “India story” and called upon the nation to move forward unitedly, transcending identities of caste, creed, language, and region. President Murmu acknowledged the prominence of India’s economic performance amid global uncertainties, noting that the country has emerged as a beacon of hope and has adeptly transformed challenges into opportunities.
Highlighting India’s resurgence on the international stage and its enhanced status in the global order, President Murmu underlined the country’s role as the G20 presidency, which empowers it to contribute to equitable progress in trade and finance decision-making.
Praising the government’s efforts to safeguard citizens from inflation while extending security coverage to the less fortunate, she stressed that the world looks up to India for global economic growth. She further advocated for the economic empowerment of women and encouraged tribal communities to embrace modernity while preserving their traditions.
Addressing the multi-faceted identities individuals hold, President Murmu emphasized that the supreme identity is that of being a citizen of India.
