CAIT urge PM Modi to declare year from this 15 August as Swaraj Varsh
New Delhi, NFAPost: In pursuance of the clarion call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for celebration of Har Ghar Tiranga, the Confederation of All India Traders ( CAIT) is working actively on this campaign and expects that this year by 15th August, with the sale of about 35 crore tricolour flags, the sale of Tiranga flags could go upto Rs 600 crores. Last year it was around Rs 500 crores.
The CAIT has strongly appealed traders of the Country to put national flag on their shops and homes from 13th August to 15th August and also distribute tricolour flags to their employees enabling them to put on their homes.The CAIT represents more than 40 thousand trade associations across the Country thereby representing about 8 crore traders.
While appreciating the Amrit Mahotsav, the CAIT has strongly appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare period from 15th August of this year to 15th August 2024 as ” Swaraj Varsh” and also urge the Countrymen for Har Ghar Tiranga during forthcoming G 20 Summit next month.
CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that from today to 15th August, the trade associations are organising more than 4000 events including taking out Tiranga Rally, Tiranga Run, Tiranga Gaurav Yatra and Swarajya March across the Country.
“In Delhi, the New Lajpat Rai Market in Chandni Chowk, the Trade Association has painted shutters of the shops with tricolour.They further said that Har Ghar Tiranga has given employment to more than 10 lakh people in the Country who made Tiranga flag in their household or at smaller places engaging local tailors in a big way. The SME manufacturing and trading sector worked day and night in producing large number of Indian flag in a most organised way,” said CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.
CAIT office bearers said the different sizes of flag generally made include 6800x4200mm, 3600x2400mm, 1800x1200mm, 1350x900mm, 900x600mm,450x300mm, 225x150mm and 150×100 mm .
“In years prior to last year, on the occasion of Independence Day, the annual sale of Indian tricolor was restricted to near about Rs.150-200 crore of rupees. Undoubtedly, the HGT campaign has boost patriotism in the Country to a next level,” said CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.
Urging Prime Minister narendra Modi to declare Swaraj year from this 15th August,CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said that in pursuance of the vision of “Atmnirbhar Bharat” and ” Vocal on Local” much emphasis should be laid on developing indigenous trade and commerce to produce and sale of high quality goods & services which will position India as a distinct nation on the global scenario.
They further said said that in view of the enthusiasm and patriotism of the people across the country towards the Tricolor campaign, the government in PPP model with organisations of different sectors should run a campaign to awaken the basic spirit of “Nation Paramount” and promoting people to use Made in India products, across the country.
“The youth of the Country must know the sacrifices made by the people in obtaining Independence and a year long series in Swaraj Varsh will imbibe the feeling and confidence about the independence of the Country. In the present time when few people want to destabilize the Country, the Swaraj Varsh will do a great job in tying the fabric of the country with the thread of patriotism in a greater way,” said CAIT National President B C Bhartia & Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal.
