New Delhi, NFAPost: As per S&P Global Market Intelligence, in FY22-23, Samsung exported $4.09 billion smartphones from India — an increase of 42% over 2021, when it was $2.8 billion — accounting for 35% of all smartphone exports. In 2018 its exports were a mere $0.7 billion.
In value terms, in calendar year 2022, Samsung Vietnam exported phones worth $31.42 billion in the form of completely built units (CBUs), which is almost half of the country’s total mobile exports. ($33.3 billion) accounts for 95 percent. So, when it comes to export value, India accounts for only one-seventh of the company’s exports from Vietnam in FY2023.
Samsung acheved this leaving behind other mobile phone manufactureres, including Apple which is manufacturing the product with Taiwanese equipment manufacturing service (EMS) companies Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron.
