Bengaluru, NFAPost: The fourth edition of the Space Economy Leaders Meeting (SELM), organized as part of the G20 India Presidency, is set to commence tomorrow in Bengaluru. Over the course of two days, the meeting will focus on the sharing of the space mission economy, the responsibilities of space agencies, and fostering alliances in space missions.
The primary objective of the meeting is to enhance the space economy’s contribution to the global economy in a responsible and sustainable manner. The agenda includes round table meetings for heads of space agencies, panel discussions, bilateral meetings, and a plenary session, all scheduled for the first day.
Distinguished attendees during the inaugural event tomorrow will include Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office; Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education; Somnath S, Chairman of ISRO; Dr Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe; and Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa.
Prominent speakers during the plenary session will include Dr V K Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog; Jayant Patil, Chairman of the Indian Space Association; Clayton Mowry, President of the International Astronautical Federation; Mario Manicewicz, Head of the Radio Communication Bureau; and Claire Jolly, Head of the OECD Space Forum.
To showcase India’s rich culture and tradition, cultural programs have been organized for foreign dignitaries. Additionally, an exhibition highlighting India’s space activities and the capabilities of its space industries will be featured. Delegates will also have the opportunity to partake in excursions and facility visits on the second day.
As part of the visit, delegates will tour HAL to witness the construction of alloy structures and tankages for Satellite Launch Vehicles and spacecraft. They will also have the opportunity to visit private industries contributing to the Indian space program.
The fourth edition of the Space Economy Leaders Meeting promises to be an enriching platform for fruitful discussions, fostering collaboration, and strengthening the responsible and sustainable growth of the space economy. With a diverse range of sessions and cultural experiences, the event aims to highlight India’s prowess in the space sector while facilitating meaningful exchanges among global space leaders.
