New Delhi, NFAPost: Lohia Auto Industries CEO Ayush Lohia said there is an increasing demand for electric three-wheelers in both passenger and cargo segments in India.
“The growth of electric three-wheelers in the cargo segment has been significant as they have become a preferred choice for business-led mobility solutions,” said Lohia Auto Industries CEO Ayush Lohia
He further added that the continuous support of the government in the growth of the EV industry through subsidies, favorable regulations, and policies has contributed to easing EV adoption in the country.
According to a recent report by JMK Research and Analytics, electric vehicles (EVs) in the three-wheeler segment have gained
traction and their share has increased to over 50% of total sales in India.
The commercial EV market has seen rapid growth in recent years, making up a total of more than 50% of all three-wheelers. The report also estimates that India’s EV sales will reach 191.5 lakh units annually by FY2030.\
The top players in the electric three-wheeler segment accounted for 35.5% of the entire sales in the market. This trend is
expected to continue as the FAME policy and the government’s support in the growth of the EV industry have contributed significantly to the ease of adoption in the country.
The three-wheeler industry segment plays a crucial role in terms of rising economic activity and business-led mobility solutions. With a definitive shift in trend towards light commercial vehicles and electric three-wheelers, new entrants are expected to continue entering the market, indicating the potential for significant demand in the segment.
