New Delhi, NFAPost: NASSCOM, the Indian trade association for the technology industry, has appointed Anant Maheshwari, President of Microsoft India, as its Chairperson for 2023-24. Maheshwari takes over from Krishnan Ramanujam, President of Business & Technology Services Tata Consultancy Services, who served as Chairperson in 2022-23. Rajesh Nambiar, Chairman and MD of Cognizant India, has been appointed Vice Chairperson for the same period.
The new Executive Council for 2023-2025 has also been announced, with one-third of its members being women leaders. The council will focus on strategic initiatives and programs to enable India’s tech sector to lead on the global stage. The new leadership will work with NASSCOM President Debjani Ghosh to achieve the tech industry’s vision of $500 billion by 2030.
The priorities of the new leadership include maximizing the impact and innovation quotient of India’s domestic sector to drive resilient growth, boosting domestic market revenue with a focus on digitalization-led production, and accelerating the adoption and last-mile impact of deep technologies. They will work to bring together forward-looking tech policies, a deep tech startup ecosystem, stable funding, and global talent flow.
Maheshwari stated that India is demonstrating broader technology leadership for the world and that he is honoured and humbled to support the NASSCOM Executive Council as Chairperson. Ghosh is delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with Maheshwari and Nambiar to establish India as a global hotspot for tech innovation and talent.
NASSCOM will continue to work with government bodies to build policies that support the growth of the Indian IT sector. Collaboration with stakeholders will help drive innovation and create opportunities for sustainable growth and development in India.
