Bengaluru, NFAPost: Taiwanese electronics major Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn Technology Group) Chairman Young Liu wrote a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai confirming the company’s investment plan in the state.
Taiwanese electronics major Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn Technology Group) Chairman Young Liu wrote a letter appreciating Basavaraj Bommai and his team for their efforts to set up world class infrastructure and stated that the Foxconn team found their visit successful and fruitful.
“I am confident that ‘Project Elephant will lay a strong foundation for our other multiple plans, spanning mechanical / precision mechinery, electric vehicle, IC design and semiconductor segments to consider your state as a potential investment destination,” said Taiwanese electronics major Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn Technology Group) Chairman Young Liu.

Karnataka IT/BT Minister C N Ashwath Narayanan minister had welcomed the delegation which included 17 senior officials of the company on their arrival at the Bengaluru International airport. The delegation also had a lunch meeting led by Karnataka Industries Minister Murugesh R. Nirani.
The company had earlier denied any plan to invest in Karnataka. It had created a political flutter in the state. The investment plan in Karnataka comes close on the heels of the company’s decision to go ahead with its investment in Telangana.

Now the political leadership of the both states will have to deliver the promises to attract the Foxconn investment. These investment decision are taken by Taiwan electronics major is planning to shift its supply chain business from China to other geographies.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is making a concerted effort to emerge as the manufacturing hub of the world. India will have to showcase the competitive advantages with human resources along with other basic infrastructure.
