Bengaluru: Agriculture Minister B. C. Patil has called upon people to get out of junk food slavery and give more emphasis to healthy eating styles.
While inaugurating the preliminary road show program of the International Organic Millets Fair, he said that the year 2023 has been declared as the International Year of Millets. A preliminary meeting is being held accordingly. Karnataka is a model for the entire country in the use and cultivation of cereals. He said that Karnataka is known as the “King of Cereals”.
Many products like spice products, cosmetic products, and eco-friendly products were also made from organic cereals. People are becoming more and more enthusiastic about nutritious food. People are slaves to junk food and hence their health is getting worse. So recently people are giving more importance to organic cereals. He called upon people to abandon the junk food pattern and give more emphasis on organic cereals for better health.
After the end of covid, people are paying more and more attention to health. The food of the future is cereal. Therefore, in order to create awareness among the people and encourage organic cereal growers, a cereal organic fair has been organized The fourth edition of this mega event, “Millets & Organics – International Trade Fair 2023” will be held from 20-22 January 2023 at Tripuravasini, Palace Ground, Bangalore, he said.
Union Ministers are arriving in this program and CM Basavaraja Bommai is inaugurating the program. On January 14th 2023, a Millet Walkathon will be held at Cubbon Park to create awareness about cereal organics. B. C. Patil said that cereal organic fairs are already being held in all the districts of the state.
