Bengaluru, NFAPost: Epic Electronics Products Foundation (EPIC Foundation) is organising EPIC Conversations – The Legend Series, a virtual inaugural interactive fireside session on Friday with the participation of HCL cofounder Ajay Chowdhary and Father of Pentium and a Semiconductor legend Vinod Dham.
This initiative is part of EPIC Foundation’s efforts to support visionary ideas from legends of the electronics and semiconductor ecosystem to an audience who are keen to learn. The inaugural session is on “Making India an Electronics and Semiconductor Product Nation” and it will be moderated by VLSI Society of India President and Epic Foundation Founder and CEO Dr. Satya Gupta.

Speaking to TheNFAPost, VLSI Society of India President and EPIC Foundation Founder and CEO Dr. Satya Gupta said EPIC Foundation is holding the meeting at a time when the country is taking strategic decision to be self reliant.
“We hope this will inspire a new generation of individuals and entrepreneurs to innovate and help build India into a global manufacturing hub. We believe in capacity building initiatives to take on these emerging opportunity,” said VLSI Society of India President and EPIC Foundation Founder and CEO Dr. Satya Gupta.
He also pointed out that electronics product design and manufacturing in India is not only intended to develop cutting edge products but will also play a pivotal role in social empowerment by creating equitable access for all communities.
In an earlier interaction with TheNFAPost, Father of Pentium and semiconductor legend Vinod Dham who is also heading India Semiconductor Mission, had pointed out that it is a complex task to achieve self sufficiency in semicondutor manufacturing.
Union Cabinet also approved the Semiconductor India Program in December 2021 for the development of the semiconductors and display manufacturing ecosystem in India. Now the coming February the government will declare the companies names to bolster Indian electronics industry by setting up fab and display manufacturing companies.
The government of India announced its semiconductor scheme worth Rs 76,000 crore for attracting semiconductor and display fabs in the country on December 15, 2021. It is expected to change the course of ESDM sector and will generate more employment along with economic growth.
