Bengaluru, NFAPost: Startups and early-stage entrepreneurs with science and technology based innovative solutions and applications of space technologies, including downstream and allied technologies will have a great time going forward as Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is launching India’s first lab-to-market platform SpaceTech Innovation Network (SpIN) on Tuesday.
The SpaceTech Innovation Network (SpIN), an initiative of Social Alpha supported by ISRO, is expected to bring a synergy among innovators who are looking for support primarily in product development, product commercialisation and go-to-market strategy.
Commenting on the development, Arvian Research stated that it is a reality that application of space science and technology has the potential to benefit diverse sectors.
“These technology has implication in aviation, maritime and land transportation, urbanisation, mapping and surveying, human health, disaster management, food security and sustainable agriculture, environmental monitoring, and natural resources management. The SpIN platform will defenitely a game changer in this regard as India is becoming a space power of the world,” said Arvian Research.
The SpIN platform offers a focused support ecosystem that will ensure access to long-term patient capital, pooled testing, and validation infrastructure, building strong sustainable business models that will lead to new market creation for SpaceTech entrepreneurship in India.
According to Social Alpha Founder Manoj Kumar SpIN opjectives include initives to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the deep science and SpaceTech landscape at the grassroots level along with aggregating and accelerate=ing access to the network of product development and validation facilities for SpaceTech and allied sectors.
“We want SpIN platform should create a network of mentors and subject matter experts and share learning in the space. It should also help create a de-risked pipeline of innovations ready for support and deployment,” states Social Alpha Founder Manoj Kumar.
Social Alpha Founder Manoj Kumar also made it clear that SpIN also will activate innovation challenges and create go-to-market programmes to address commercial and cross-sectoral applications of SpaceTech and allied technologies. It will also aggregate mission-aligned ecosystem, stakeholders to help promote and build the SpaceTech innovation ecosystem, he added.
SpIn has made it very clear that its innovation focus areas are primarily in geospatial technologies and downstream applications. It will enable technologies for space and mobility along with aerospace materials, avionics and sensors.
It also offers technology stack in Remote Sensing Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Internet Mapping Software Technologies. SpIN can also play important role in data science, AI, robotics, AR/VR, autonomous control systems and unmanned aerial vehicles. It is expected to play important role in micro/nano electromechanical systems, sensor technologies, 3D sensing and imaging along with advanced material processing and fabrication.
