Bengaluru, NFAPost: UBUNTU Founder and President K Ratnaprabha in the presence of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S Bommai launched UBUNTU Market App by Hesa to provide wider connectivity for rural women who are looking at capture growing opportunity in ecommerce space.
Speaking at the event, UBUNTU Founder and President K Ratnaprabha said Hesa is a Rural ecommerce platform designed to bring better and more varied products and services to the rural consumer who don’t get serviced due to a lack of viable unit economics.
“Ecommerce can be a powerful tool for connecting with customers and be a part of a wider supply chain. It can bring in greater gains to women entrepreneurs since it addresses the outmoded barriers of geographic isolation and limited access to information and financing along with empowering South Asian women entrepreneurs socially and economically,” said UBUNTU Founder-President K Ratnaprabha.
The Launch UBUNTU Market App by Hesa happened at ‘The Digital Transformation-A big leap’, an initiative to provide digital marketing training to 10,000 women jointly organised by UBUNTU and UNESCAP, with the support of Karnataka government.
Speaking to NFAPost, K Ratnaprabha said ecommerce business transactions have been on a rise in the country and is expected to reach $120 billion by 2026 from as low of $38 billion in 2021.
“The outbreak of Covid-19 has also led to an exponential increase in ecommerce business in the region. I believe this high growth of ecommerce businesses will fuel the economic growth of the warehousing and logistics sector in the country. Now woman entrepreneurs has lot more to play in this entire value chain. For that they will have to overcome the challenges faced and explore the global and regional markets,” said UBUNTU Founder-President K Ratnaprabha.
