New Delhi, NFAPost: Sony launched two new Bravia XR OLED TVs in India with the cognitive processor XR. The Bravia XR OLED A80K series is currently available in 77 inches, and 65 inches, with an additional screen size of 55 inch to be launched soon.
The new Cognitive Processor XR also offers incredible sound with Sound-from-Picture Reality. The new models — XR-65A80K and XR-77A80K are priced at Rs 279,990 and Rs 699,900, respectively. They are now available on both online and offline channels.
According to the company statement, with Cognitive Processor XR™, BRAVIA TVs analyse the content and recreate it the same way humans see and hear in the real world.
“For example, they understand where humans tend to focus in a picture—like the main character in a movie. They also know that sound should come from above you when it’s a jet aircraft and recreate that sound in your living room. The result is your favourite content recreated in a way that’s so real you can feel it,” states Sony India.
The A80K series features Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 4K and HDR. The TV includes three actuators and two subwoofers, out of which two of the actuators are dedicated to treble, strengthening localization and surround sound.
Conventional AI can only detect and analyse picture elements like colour, contrast and clarity individually. This means that the picture element is enhanced to only a certain level. But the way we perceive the world is based on all kinds of information coming from our eyes and ears to our brain.
“Working in the same way, Cognitive Processor XR cross-analyses hundreds of thousands of elements at once. One of these elements is the focal point, which can detect where humans tend to focus the most. By cross-analysing each picture element including the focal point, it generates depth information and adjusts each part to give the picture the most depth and reality,” states the company.
The OLED series works with Google TV, Apple AirPlay, and Apple HomeKit. For gamers, it encompasses a dedicated game mode with HDMI 2.1 compatibility, including 4K 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Auto HDR Tone and Auto Game Mode.
The company said, “The BRAVIA XR TVs are designed for immersive experiences with the environment in mind. We are committed to using less virgin plastic in our TVs and packaging. The A80K uses Sony-developed SORPLAS with a recycle rate of up to 85% in its rear cover.”
