The state decides to raise Bengaluru Tech Summit to international level: Chief Minister Bommai
India’s flagship IT/BT event will also organise pre-events in foreign countries
Bengaluru, NFAPost: The preparations have begun to conduct the Silver Jubilee edition of Bengaluru Tech Summit- 2022 (BTS-22), the flagship technological event of the state and country in a big way, scheduled to be held from November 16 to 18, said Karnataka Minister for Electronics and IT/BT Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayan.
He made this announcement in a curtain-raiser press meet, after holding a meeting for more than 3 hours in this connection with CXOs (Chief Experience Officers) of leading companies in presence of Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai.
Karnataka Minister for Electronics and IT/BT Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayan said the event with the tagline ‘Tech for Next Generation’ will be held in physical format at Bengaluru Palace premises and for the first time pre-events of BTS will be held in foreign countries including the USA, the UK, and Japan.
“To mark the 25th edition (Silver Jubilee) of the event in a significant way preparations have been begun 7 months prior,” said Karnataka Minister for Electronics and IT/BT Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayan.
Web 3.0, Metaverse technologies
The Minister also said the government will ensure promoting Web 3.0 and Metaverse technologies and aims to take the benefits of these developments to the remote villages by framing suitable policies.
“As per the industry experts, the demand for human resources in the IT-related domain may go up to 55 lakhs in the next years from the current 25 lakhs and the government will plan accordingly,” said Karnataka Minister for Electronics and IT/BT Dr C N Ashwath Narayan..
The government has come out with ‘ Karnataka Data Centre Policy-2022’ recently and aims to attract Rs 10,000 crores in this domain in the next 5 years, said the Minister.
Under the ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ initiative, Mysuru has been identified as the ‘Cyber Security’ cluster, Hubballi as the ‘ESDM & AI’ cluster, Mangaluru as the ‘Fin Tech’ cluster, and Belagavi as the ‘Aerospace’ cluster, he explained.
Further, Karnataka Minister for Electronics and IT/BT Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayan said KDEM (Karnataka Digital Economy Mission) has been established to ensure reaching the above objectives and contributing $1.5 Trillion economy from the state for the 5 Trillion Dollar economy of the country as set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said the support and cooperation of the industry were sought in the meeting with CXOs to enable the hassle-free implementation of 30 weeks of internship which has been made mandatory for professional courses.
On this occasion, the logo of the BTS-2022 was also launched.
Karnataka has drawn the biggest share of 40% of the Foreign Direct Investment India drew in the last financial year. It amounts to $17.3 billion. Karnataka is at the top spot in exports too in the country, Ashwathnarayan said.
International standard
As the Bengaluru Tech Summit is approaching its Silver Jubilee Year, the State government has decided to raise the flagship tech event this year to international level, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
Speaking to media persons after participating in the curtain raiser for ‘Bengaluru Tech Summit 2022’, Bommai said he had an interaction with entrepreneurs of various sectors as part of the preparations for the Bengaluru Tech Summit scheduled to be held in November.
“I have received many suggestions pertaining to policies conducive to industrial growth, creating ideal ecosystem and technological aspects. They will be implemented,” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
New Dimension to technology sector
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said Bengaluru Tech Summit will give a new dimension to the technology sector.
“Today’s meeting is very successful. Government will give a boost to various industrial sectors in the coming days. State government is keen to develop Bengaluru as the number one Silicon City in the world. Action is being taken to improve the infrastructure in the outskirts of Bengaluru as well,” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.
