Bengaluru, NFAPost: Sonata Software, the global IT digital services and solutions company, announced the appointment of Samir Dhir as new Chief Executive as part of the Board’s succession plan.

As per the company announcement, Srikar Reddy will continue as Managing Director and Samir Dhir will take over as CEO within the next nine to twelve months.

The Board also announced that there would be continuity with Srikar Reddy being elevated as Executive Vice Chairman once the above transition is complete. Srikar Reddy will continue to support the leadership team on important organisational initiatives.

Samir Dhir led many groundbreaking changes during his various leadership roles in different organisations and brings more than 25 years of leadership and industry experience.

In his last role, he served as CEO of Global Markets and Industries at Virtusa, where he managed the company’s revenues of over US $1.6B. As part of the role, he built depth in BFSI, TMT, and Healthcare industries for Digital capabilities.

Besides working with Avaya, Samir Dhir also worked with Wipro Limited as Vice President and Practice Head, SAP for six years and nine months.

Sonata Software’s letter to the regulatory bodies also makes it clear that all of the above appointments are subject to Board, Shareholders’ and other applicable approvals.

Commenting on the appointment of Samir Dhir, Sonata Software Managing Director Srikar Reddy said the company is excited to have Samir Dhir join as CEO in its growth phase.

Sonata Software Limited is a global IT services company that provides services in business intelligence and analytics, application development management, mobility, cloud, social media, testing, enterprise services, and infrastructure management services.

Founded in 1986 as the IT division of Indian Organic Chemicals, the company spun off as an independent entity in 1994. The company became a public company in 1998. In 2001, the company obtained SEI-CMMI Level 5 certification and in the following years, set up offices in the US, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Sonata Software’s revenue registered 93% for the third quarter-on-quarter(QoQ) to Rs 1,858 crore ending December 2021 compared with the same period during the last year. On a year-on-year(YoY) basis the revenue grew by 33%. The consolidated net profit for the quarter jumped to Rs 97.6 crore, an 82% increase YoY. On a sequential basis, it spiked 7% QoQ.
