Manthan is also opened for all South Indian states (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) during its current 14th edition
Bengaluru, NFAPost: Manthan 2022, the 14 edition of the annual business plan presentation competition organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), began at a grand curtain raiser event inaugurated by Karnataka IT & BT Minister C N Ashwatha Narayana.
Speaking at the function, Aswath Narayan said Karnataka is known for its innovation and startup culture. “It is a reality that Bengaluru and Karnataka have played a pivotal role in building an innovation ecosystem in the country. Also, Bengaluru is now the third largest startup ecosystem in the world,” he said.
Karnataka IT & BT Minister also praised FKCCI for taking Manthan programme to other states so that its relevance is enhanced further. “Since our state is leading from the front, it is great to know that FKCCI is taking this innovation culture to other states via Manthan Programme,” C N Ashwatha Narayana said to NFAPost.
Aiming at encouraging young minds to develop the entrepreneurial spirit, Manthan programme reaches out to all college students (Under Graduate, Graduate, and Post-Graduate students) from Institutions all over Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The student teams are trained, their proposals are evaluated and the best innovative, technically feasible, commercially viable and implementable Business Plans are rewarded by a cash prize.
Commenting on the programme, FKCCI President I S Prasad said Manthan is a platform for creating network between students, corporate and the industrial sectors.
“It will provide an opportunity for students to manifest their innovative ideas and to interact with businessmen. FKCCI also conducts Knowledge Workshops and provide one to one mentoring to enhance the quality of business plan so as pitch it before the investors & financial institution. FKCCI also encourages Industrialists to link up with student’s business plans to move it to the commercial scale of operations,” said FKCCI President I S Prasad.
He also highlighred the fact that FKCCI is organising Manthan in line with National Education Policy (NEP) as it envisages in further flourishing entrepreneurial ecosystem. “We at FKCCI aiming to create more young entrepreneurs for nation-building Through this MANTHAN programme and putting our effort in reducing the Industry & Academia gap by enhancing the skill set of young students,” said FKCCI President.
It is interesting to point out that FKCCI has decided to expand the competition across South India to encourage the participation of aspirational youth from the entire South Indian States and to attract the startups from other states to Karnataka.
“We are also happy to inform you that FKCCI has enhanced the total Cash prize to Rs.1 million. This noble initiative of FKCCI will enable the Nation to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious target of making India’s economy of “5 Trillion $ by 2025” and his dream of “Start-Up India” & “Young India” initiatives,” said FKCCI President I S Prasad.
The last date of registration for the Manthan-2022 business plan presentation is extended up to 28th February, 2022 due to overwhelming response and requests from many Colleges and students. This is to encourage the student to participate in maximum numbers and FKCCI requests the Institutions & student fraternity to take maximum benefit of this program.
FKCCI envisages the 14th edition of Manthan Business plan best ideas / best business plans are entitled to seed money of up to Rs.10 crore from Udaan New Horizon College of Engineering and up to Rs.2 crore from AIC NITTE Incubation Center subject to meeting the criteria of the institutions.
