Bangalore: Global IT major Wipro on Monday announced foraying into digital advertising industry with software solutions and services in partnership with networking products firm Cisco.
“We have developed digital signage and omni channel advertising solution ‘Wipro VisionEdge’ to extend our services to sport, retail, transportation and entertainment verticals,” said the city-based vendor in a statement.
Known earlier as Cisco Vision, VisionEdge is a converged platform which enables brands to stream content for more customer engagement.
“As stadiums, airports, retailers and other venues seek ways to engage with customers, our solution offers flexibility to deliver video and advertising to transform customer experience,” said the statement.
The solution will also leverage the company’s cloud services to allow clients to unlock new business value from their brands and create revenue streams.
Wipro and Cisco will invest in the go-to-market plans and foray into newer applications for the VisionEdge solution.
“Our 26-year partnership with Cisco is a testament to our ability to keep pace with the changing business and technology landscape and deliver value through various offerings and innovative partnership models,” said the company’s vice-president and sector head Malay Joshi.
The outsourcing firm will build more features, capabilities and services by leveraging its engineeringNXT and 5G offerings to deliver value and new business opportunities to its customers, worldwide.
“As the digital advertising market grows and transforms, we will build on our partnership to deliver VisionEdge and other solutions to our customers,” said Cisco managing director for global sales Ken Martin.
Sport, media, entertainment, transportation and retail sectors are undergoing transformations due to converged networks, wireless technologies, IPTV (Internet Protocol television), IP-fabric, sensors, cloud native applications, 5G, Artificial Intelligence and other innovations.
“We will continue to invest in solutions and work with customers and partners to support their needs and adopt the best technologies on the market,” added Martin.
