Three day event will have over 30 countries participation, says IT/BT minister C N Ashwatha Narayana
M Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President to inaugurate BTS- 2021; Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett to speak at the function
Bengaluru, NFAPost: The annual flagship event of GoK as well as GoI, Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS- 2021) also acclaimed to be Asia’s biggest tech festival, scheduled to be held from November 17th-19th in Hybrid format will be inaugurated by M. Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India.
Addressing the press meet with regard to BTS-2021 on Tuesday, Karnataka Minister for Electronics, IT/BT and S&T C.N.Ashwatha Narayana said the 24th edition of the event with the theme ‘DRIVING THE NEXT’, which will be held on four tracks of IT, BT, Start-up and Global Innovation Alliance (GIA) at a private hotel (Taj West End). \
“BTS-2021 is likely to witness participation of over 30 Countries, 300+ Speakers, 5000+ Start-Up Attendees, 300+ Exhibitors, 20,000+ Business Attendees, and overall Digital Reach to half a million tech enthusiasts with 75+ Conference Sessions,” said C.N.Ashwatha Narayana.
The event which rides on the mantra of Reform, Transform and Perform will witness the participation of Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett, World Economic Forum Founder and Chairman Prof. Klaus Schwab, Kyndryl CEO Martin Schroeter, Senior Ministers from Central & State Governments, host of international industry captains, government officials, Noble Laureates, visionary leaders among others.
The inaugural ceremony on November 17 will be presided by Thawar Chand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka wherein Basvaraj Bommai, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Communications, Electronics & technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be attending.
C.N.Ashwatha Narayana explained that the new features added this year under BTS are India USA Tech Conclave, India Innovation Alliance, BENGALURU NEXT Leadership Conclave, BENGALURU NEXT Innovators Conclave, and a showcase of Science Gallery.
“Besides this Multi-track Conferences, International exhibitions, Global Innovation Alliance meet, Startup focus, National Rural IT Quiz, BioQuiz, Biotech Posters, STPI IT Export Awards, Smart Bio Awards, and Startup Unicorn Felicitations will take place,” said C.N.Ashwatha Narayana.
The Electronics & IT Track at BTS2021will focus on key topics like GCC, Hybrid Cloud, ESG, AI & ML, 5G, Media & Entertainment, Cyber security, Global ESDM market, and Skilling & Reskilling Fintech transformation.
The Biotech Track will focus on topics like Moderna & MRNA Technologies In conceiving vaccines, investing in next generation medtech & diagnostics, gene-editing, oncology, innovative treatments and biomarkers, vaccine equity, showcasing India’s vaccine leadership, cellular immuno-therapies, latest innovations in cell therapy, secondary agriculture and regulatory mechanism, said the Minister.
As part of the event, the Startup Track will focus on topics like women entrepreneurship, grass root & social entrepreneurship, IPO opportunities and challenges for startups, helping businesses survive, govt funding, emerging tech trends in aerospace & defence, edutech, healthcare, electric vehicles, etc.
Another main attraction of BTS2021 is India US Tech Conclave and it will be held in association with US India Business Council. The sessions under this will be addressed by experts with East Coast focussing on Life Sciences, West Coast on Start-Ups, and Mid America on IT.
India Innovation Alliance will focus on connecting various innovation clusters from different states with Karnataka. This initiative is hoped to strengthen the overall innovation ecosystem in the country.
BENGALURU NEXT Leadership Conclave will discuss the way forward and future for the city of Bengaluru, acclaimed to be as most dynamic. This will highlight how GCC’s will run in the post-pandemic world and how the Govt can help support these Captive centres.
BENGALURU NEXT Innovators Conclave- will recognize and award emerging Biotech firms that have shown dynamic leadership, exciting technologies, and standout contribution in their chosen fields in biotech like Biopharma, Bio services, Agribiotech, Med-tech among others.
During this Conclave organized by the Department of Electronics, IT, Bt and S&T, GoK and Software Technology Parks of India, 22 Unicorn companies (from the state of Karnataka) which are considered as innovative disrupters and attracting FDI’s from all over the world will be felicitated. By facilitating 22 Unicorns the government wants to encourage more home-grown companies to take the State and India global in line with the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ call by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
