The lab will take up 140 varieties of tests
It will start functioning within 45 days
The lab is expected to offer discount up to 50%
Bengaluru, NFAPost: BBMP and Manipal Health Enterprises have entered into an MoU (memorandum of understanding) on Thursday to set up a Hi-Tech lab in Malleswaram in order to provide medical testing facilities for economically weaker sections at discounted rates.
The MoU was inked in presence of Minister for Higher Education and IT/BT Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana who is also the MLA of the Malleshwaram constituency.
As per the MoU, Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana said the lab which starts to function in 45 days at the first floor of Bengaluru One building near Chandrashekhar Azad sports ground, will have 30% reduced rates as compared to other diagnostic centers.
“Besides, there will be a discount of 50% for BPL cardholders and a reduction of 40% rates for APL cardholders in the center. This discount can be availed by those who come for tests on prescriptions from PHCs or Government hospitals,” said the Minister.
Dr.C.N.Ashwatha Narayana also said the lab which will be set up under PPP (Public-Private Partnership) will have facilities for 140 different tests including X-Ray, ultrasound, ECG, and PFT.
He also added that the building space will be provided by BBMP, and the remaining setup will be made by Manipal Health and such labs will be set up in other parts of the city based on the success of this centre.
Gourav Gupta, Chief Commissioner, BBMP, Randeep, Special Commissioner, Dr.Vijayendra, BBMP Chief Health Officer, Deepak Venugopalan, CEO, Manipal Health, Dr.Murali, Clinical Operation Head, Manipal Health were present while signing the MoU.
